about Controversy

[edit]

I would like to know where the information below headline Controversy comes from, as there is no reference, and I didn't find it with google anywhere else.
I found out it was added by the user JaGa (09:01, 6 June 2008). --Gomeck1 (talk) 14:50, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Shane Barnard

[edit]

Reasons already set out at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shane Barnard; specifically, Shane Bernard as an individual musician does not satisfy WP:NM Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 18:55, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose But he satisfies WP:GNG. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:06, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Also, he does meet WP:NM with multiple albums on an important Christian label. Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:09, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please name them. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:32, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Name what? The albums? They're on the artist's article and Inpop is the label.
As for GNG: The Ledger, Lexington Herald-Leader, CBN Music, The News-Dispatch, Star Tribune, The Christian Post and The Gazette.
I don't watch that article. Had I, I would have seen the XfD and responded in kind there. I'm surprised you didn't bother to check either guideline before nominating it. Walter Görlitz (talk) 20:36, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please name Shane Barnard's albums on a major label as an independent musician, as that is the criterion for maintaining a separate article for him. Otherwise, "Note that members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability for activity independent of the band, such as solo releases" (WP:NM). Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:51, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, I misread the discography section. They're all part of this duo's output. So only GNG and http://blog.beliefnet.com/wholenotes/2011/10/a-conversation-with-shane-barnard-of-shane-shane.html is the only item that meets that. Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:17, 25 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Worship Initiative

[edit]

I happened to find their project The Worship Initiative, and noticed none of the albums released specifically for the project are listed here or on the discography article - they're available as separate albums on iTunes, Amazon, and possibly elsewhere. Seems that's enough to warrant a mention. I've already added a small section about the project to the article - just wasn't sure if all 10 volumes (plus a 1-song 11th "volume" and a Christmas album) should be given separate list entries, or just summarized. --Fru1tbat (talk) 17:32, 8 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is the programme somehow notable? Have others written about it to say that it's a good thing? If not, we're simply helping to promote their activity. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:05, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The "initiative" is not notable enough for its own article, nor are the individual albums, but in the context of their career/discography, I believe it should be covered. The WI volumes comprise 100+ songs they've recorded and released commercially, in album form - I'm only interested in listing them in the discography with a corresponding short mention in prose (which I believe I've covered adequately, though if you feel it should be trimmed, I would not argue too much), not in expanding the section beyond what it currently is (barring future coverage in secondary sources, of course). I went back and read the section I added yesterday again, and decided to trim a slightly unnecessary detail, but otherwise it seems appropriate to me. --Fru1tbat (talk) 13:48, 9 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I just added more sources; I think the tag can be removed now, if you need to add it back just add it back and reply here what needs to be fixed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Awsomaw (talkcontribs) 18:22, 16 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
