I would like to know what's the meaning of the word "shakwak" and which language it comes from.

- The highways involved in the project mostly pass through the Shakwak Valley or Trench, a geographical feature. Shakwak is, more than likely, a First Nations (American Indian) word. Unfortunately, even my book "Yukon Places & Names" does not explain the origin of Shakwak. GBC (talk) 21:29, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
