I would definitely consider NPR a reliable source.

Do wikipedia entries on people include their titles?

[edit]

I move to strike "Rabbi" from the entry title If need be, it can be worked into the opening sentence, like: Shais Taub is a rabbi who... .Asparklaria (talk) 09:58, 2 January 2011 (UTC)Asparklari[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

This page has been repeatedly vandalized by the same user. What steps can be taken to prevent this from continuing? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigtimebeagle (talkcontribs) 06:20, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that this page is being edited again with clearly nonobjective statements about the subject's family. This information is poorly sourced and seems to violate the BLP guidelines. I can't make the changes myself as I am not familiar enough with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines to be confident that my changes would be valid. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.109.199.103 (talk) 06:15, 17 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Birth name

[edit]

Is there a secondary source available for his birth name? I see that it's being disputed whether to include it or not. I'm open to other opinions, but I would suggest leaving it out unless there's a good secondary source available. Mark Arsten (talk) 02:21, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Birth names are routinely included in articles, and there is no reason to exempt this. But I agree, a more reliable source needs to be found. --Dmol (talk) 04:54, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for this discussion. Wikipedia's general philosophy for BLP is to err to the side of conservatism. So until a non-primary source is located (see WP:BLPPRIMARY), can we agree to omit this information? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.61.181.57 (talk) 18:23, 2 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK... So I am going to go ahead and omit this information. Obviously, if a reputable secondary source is found, then please edit the article accordingly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.61.181.57 (talk) 04:03, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
