Age

Check this out. http://www.sonic-cult.org/!trash/snextcharbios.png

this is the second source to say that Shadow's age is 15. IGN has also posted this info and said it was from SEGA? Is that enough evidence? Oh ,and it seems Mephiles is Shadow's dark side and Shadow/Rouge is vaguley canon to the games....also, Knuckles/Rouge seems to have been limited to Sonic X GrandMasterGalvatron 02:13, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

First of all, what is that? A scan of something? We'll need to know that, too. Secondly, a fansite saying something is 'vaugly cannon' isn't exactly the best insight... --InShaneee 17:03, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
It's a character bio scan...abliet in concept stages but still, that 15 bit has turned up on IGN as well GrandMasterGalvatron 19:00, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
If you can ref IGN, I'd use that as a proper source. --InShaneee 19:14, 28 September 2006 (UTC)

Gah! Who keeps editing Shadow's age back and forth?!?!? --Luigifan 22:38, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Whoever thinks Shadow is the age of "0" is at a complete lost of information. Physically, Shadow is 15 years old (like Sonic). But Shadow is 50 years old (time-wise) even if he was held in cryo-whats-it sleep. He's still been around for 50 years. UnDeRsCoRe 22:49, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Mentally Shadow the Hedgehog has only been awake for a few months maximum, so his mind isn't very old. He was in cyro and you can hardly count that as gaining experience on life. Furthermore his body is NOT 0 years old. Does he look like a newborn baby to you? And he IS immortal. 86.17.163.37 09:56, 27 October 2006 (UTC) (Harley, 27th October 2006)

Arch Rival vs. Doppleganger

There's been a small edit war over this statement and reverts have caused the loss of other data. Well, as it turns out, you're both wrong. Sonic's doppleganger is Metal Sonic, as he bears the closest resemblance to Sonic and was created because of Sonic. Officialy, there is nothing stating that Sonic had anything to do with Shadow's creation, as everything I've seen is speculation. As for the arch rival bit, that would mean that Shadow is sonic's biggest foe, which he isn't....that would be Eggman. Shadow is best described as a rival to Sonic. Not an arch rival, or a doppleganger, just a rival.GrandMasterGalvatron 19:08, 27 September 2006 (UTC)

Okie dokie. --InShaneee 19:23, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
More of a rival than Knuckles these days... --Luigifan 02:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Unencyclopedic

Some of parts of the article is unencyclopedic. I tried to clean some up, but there is so many that I'm in need of assistance. Moreover, notes and more references and external links are required to improve the article. --71.104.188.207 07:02, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

I also forgot to mention that some parts of the article are too speculating. --71.104.188.207 07:03, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Not to worry, you can edit the H-E-L-L out of it. And then later on, all the edits done, will be cleaned out and reverted!

The good o fashion way
>x<ino 14:17, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I'll try to clean it up some more. --71.104.184.93 20:19, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

I found some mistakes:
  • "It is likely that Shadow may not have been in this game were it not for his popularity among fans. So it could be said that his fans revived him." I removed this sentence because it's speculation. Many things in here were speculation, like saying that Shadow may be calmer just because his voice is softer. Just cause his voice changed doesn't mean anything! Unless there's a reliable source for it, then it needs to be noted and in the "Notes and references" section. If something's speculation, it at least needs a reliable source to back it up, showing who thinks these things, and how many people do.
  • Next, at times, the writing is unencylopedic, such as putting a "But" in front or having an exclamatory. It should be "However" or "In fact" or something besides "But". And there shouldn't be any exclamatories, unless something is quoting Shadow or somebody.

The biggest problem is speculation. It just rambles on and on about some speculation about Shadow. Another problem would be the references and notes. There's not enough! Well, after we solve these problems, we should get a peer review. --71.104.184.93 20:48, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Where is the reference to the "mysterious" hedgehog mentioned in the Sonic The Hedgehog 2006 game portion of this article? I never heard its name was Mephile.Czin 19:54, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Clean Up Date!

Ya he, Ya he...all fellow wiki users!
This article is in pain, it as been Cleary vandaled hArdc0re!

The clean up date for this will be the 1st of April! Which is April's f00l's dAy:) Or it can start 2nd...if you f00ls wanna enjoy your joking days

Like I said, we are doing it the old fashion way, by letting editors edit the hell out of the article. After a while, we wiki members focuses on the article and clear out all rubbish edits!

Remember the clean up date will be the 1st of April...finishing on the 7th of April!

All we have to do now is wait...and watch the article get filled up with useless junk:)

>x<ino 20:56, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

Why do we have to wait until April the 1st? Why could we do it now or any time we can? --anon

No...we wait till April...let them still keep editing the hell outta it. Don't worry April isn't that long, just 3 days away!

>x<ino 06:59, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

Okay then, I'll wait. --anon

ALIRGHT PEOPLE IT'S CLEAN UP DATE! Today is April F00ls' Day. So lots of fake rumours will appear!

Actually, the opening is too short. Look at the other articles like Amy Rose, Knuckles the Echidna, and Tikal the Echidna for examples. --anon

I just did some major cleanup here

By removing a lot of run on sentances and shortening what shouldn't be there. What do you think? Good? Worse? In between? --69.145.122.209 02:20, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Oops. Just saw that editing was supposed to begin soon... Hope I didn't mess anything up. I didn't, did I?--69.145.122.209 02:22, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

I don't think so. But just be careful not to speculate anything and always have a reliable source if you do. --71.105.10.103 21:56, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Part of the Introduction was also a spoiler. I deleted that part - Some girl called Harley

But if needs a brief overview. Examples of good overviews in articles:

And Sonic the Hedgehog is does not have a brief overview. --71.105.14.51 20:44, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

Can we PLEASE

stop adding fancruft? The run on sentances and complete lack of grammer kill me; and the fact that half of these 'additions' are actually OPINIONS is not what Wikipedia is about. Help! --69.145.122.209 00:03, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

Your grammar isn't so great, itself... But, yes, I do believe that we have no need for every Tom, Dick, and Harry's fancruft!!! If they really want to stick it in, they should put it on the talk page first! If it doesn't get shot down, then go ahead, but make sure to label it as a theory!!! --Luigifan 22:51, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
Unsourced theories shouldn't be put in the article, either. --InShaneee 23:35, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
If it's unsourced, it's probably going to be shot down. An illegitimate theory has no chance of surviving the public scrutiny that naturally occurs on Wikipedia. --Luigifan 23:49, 26 October 2006 (UTC)

Super Shadow's Abilities

Could people please stop saying that Super Shadow's air dash is some type of spin dash that you don't have to charge. Read the manual! It says in there that it is called Air Dash! .:MindWraith

Should it be noted that the "air dash" is actually the jump dash from sonic adventure two and if close enough, Super Shadow will perform a hoing attack on nearby objects? I have done it many time myself and actually hit Devil Doom with it Grandmastergalvatron 03:09, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

I don't think it's worth noting. --InShaneee 03:14, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Don't say that Shadow's speed is 'probably' this that or the other. Until Sega does a game without his shoes, we won't know how fast he is. And don't say that he's 'not nearly as strong as Knuckles'. And don't say that he's stronger than Knuckles either. Shadow the Hedgehog as a game was a bit off, but Shadow was throwing buses and huge slabs of pavement around. All the same, he was not busting through walls the way Knuckles was in Sonic Heroes. There probably is official information on Knuckles being the strongest, but it should go in Knuckles' entry. 86.17.163.37 09:56, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Knuckles probably isn't the strongest either....at least not without his Super form. I'd say Metal Knuckles and Omega are good contenders as well as Chaos. GrandMasterGalvatron 14:37, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

Super Shadow Article

To whom ever keep on adding this riddculous information should really stop, or this Super Shadow section will have to go!

Now I will give feedback, why the information is wrong

Super Shadow is the transformed state of Shadow, when he harnesses the power of the 7 Chaos Emeralds. In this form Shadow gains invisibility this is wrong, because he isn't fully invisible, he can die when he enters water and also get die when spikes are pushed onto/into him , and all his powers and natural abilities are enhanced up to their full limit, making him just as powerful as Super Sonic we are not sure about Shadow's strength relating to Sonic's, because SEGA & SONIC TEAM, havn't released any iformation based on their sides. Accept that, both their speed are equal, and in Sonic Adventure 2, they both share nearly the same skills. But their strengths vary, even to the point when they both transform, they both gain more power.. Super Shadow made his first appearance in Sonic Adventure 2, and just like Super Sonic, he needs Power Rings to maintain this form, otherwise he will transform back into the original Shadow.

Super Shadow can run much fasterwhat do you mean, more faster!?, and fly without using his Air ShoesHow do we know, he can't run without his airshoes in the first place? when we are already jumping to this, he doesn't need his shoes to fly? SEGA & SONIC TEAM, havn't given out details about this. Super Shadow does not need to use a Chaos Emerald to perform any of his Chaos abilities What do you mean, Chaos abilites? Because half/most of his move begins with the word "Chaos", you seem to be forgeting that that word was formed because of the chaos emerald, the matter of fact that the name chaos emerald was linked with the character Chaos, because the power of all 7 Emeralds you do not need to put extra words, what is the point of putting down 7 chaos emeralds, Shadow can still absorb 1 emerald powers, because you seem to be forgetting Chaos used this techquie in Sonic Adventure, when he absorbs the negative side, and even absorbs the colour of the emerald. Shadow can do the same used to transformed him have been transferred into Using the word "Into" is like injecting something into your blood, it's like the thing is inside you. So the word "Onto" is much better, Shadow activates his abilites through himself, not inside of him. So you are telling me, if Shadow wants to activate his Chaos blast, the chaos blast in inside him? him. Super Shadow's skin is gold but the white hair on his chest and his red markings retain their color.

Also, in his game more of Super Shadow's powers are revealed and can be used. For example, Shadow can now perform Chaos Spear, use Air Dash, and perform Chaos Blast.

Now do you see why your edits are totally wrong. And I swear it, if this information goes back to the article, I will delete the section. Because I have completely prove to you, why those information are wrong. Now the other wiki users can't revert my actions! Now I understand why this section wasn't even available in the first place!

>x<ino 01:50, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
Um... Xino, with all due respect, you're coming across as discouraging users from editing articles with what they believe are valuable edits. Even if the information is incorrect, I don't think you should be threatening to ban them, lock the article or delete the section outright. IMO, that is very un-wiki-like. Just my two cents. — KieferSkunk (talk)20:45, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

L0L:P

But listen, do you know what happen?

There wasn't Super Shadow section or article. Even during the past, before Shadow game was release. Some of us even editors wanted to create a Super Shadow article, but we feared that, it might lack information.
Now, I bravely took the step forward, and create a section under this article for Super Shadow. Clearly trying to fill it up with information. Later on, the damn section kept on being vandalised. I deleted it, because I noticed why it wasn't even there in the first place! Zikar reverted my edits, saying my actions were totally wrong!

Alright then, then I will have to play along Rattleman's/Zikar way. All this time this article was just filled up with 100% useless information, so I had to call for a clean up date (which will end 7th of April). Again same information kept on going to that seciton. I mistaken blamed Rattle man for those action, which I am sorry about. Didn't know it was an editor, which I won't name that person's I.P. So I created this section in the talk page, why I always revert those information. And still the damn info kept on going in there! I warned those people to stop doing that edit, because if you keep on reverting false information over an article nearly all the time, ofcourse it will clearly be known as a vandal!
Do you know how many times I reverted that person's edit!? Ofcousre it is now a vandal, maybe he/she needs a vacation:P (banning).

I didn't threaten! IF that is what it looks like to you. I did say I was gonna delete that section: Because there wasn't no Super Shadow in the first place! Lock this article, not just because of the Super Shadow section, there are other edits still going on, edits like increasing the image size and replacing them!. Yes banning, not banning forever, but for some few days:)

>x<ino 00:31, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
I beg to differ. That looked like a pretty blatant threat against the person at that IP address. And I looked through the history too - that person did not look to me like they were vandalizing the article. Maybe making poor content edits, but there's a big difference between that and vandalism.
Over on the Homestar Runner Wiki, there's a system in place called STUFF (Select The Usable Fun Facts), which puts questionable Fun Facts up to a vote to come up with a consensus. It seems to work for us pretty well - perhaps something similar (and more public and obvious than VfD) should be applied here on WP? It could really help here, methinks. Just a suggestion. — KieferSkunk (talk)05:14, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

you still don't get it do you!? Ever since I created that damn section, it is always filled in with that same exact details above. Which is cleary wrong. I have reverted that section about countless times!.
I delibratly created this section to explain why I always revert that singular edits.
Now I found out who have been doing this, ( which I still won't list I.P...but I am guessing you might know!) That person, kept on adding the same information, same way and same words! So I knew it had to be him, that person knows I have reverted that edit many times, which makes it a vandal!

I have already message that I.P, he should check this section why that information is wrong! Orles he might get some holidays:P. I told him already, he is totally free to edit Super Shadow section, but shouldn't add those information again.

Why don't people listen!? Someone tell you what to do, you do it!, If you don't you are a damn kid! And by the way all this mess shouldn't even happen, when I decided to delete the section I created which was Super Shadow, and someone reverting it back which I won't mention names, says it was wrong of me!

>x<ino 10:58, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
How does one verify that the information the IP guy was adding was correct or not?
Again citing the HRWiki, we have a way that seems to work fairly well to discourage repeat edits of patently-false or declined information: Add it as HTML comments to the article, so that when people try to edit, they can see what's already been declined in the past. As a hypothetical example:

<!-- Please do not add references to Shadow's "Chaos Jump" ability - this has not been seen in the games and has only been seen in fan creations. -->

KieferSkunk (talk)21:16, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

This is sort of a request, but to anyone here who reads this, does anyone have that EyeToy game SEGA Superstars or whatever it's called? In it, Sonic has that Chaos Emerald special stage thing and Shadow is unlockable in it. If Shadow gets all the Emeralds in it, I've heard he'll receive a "Super Shadow bonus". Problem is, I've yet to see this for myself for I lack the game and the EyeToy. Can anyone get a hold of a screenshot of this? This would be helpful here, in the Super Sonic article, and pretty much all over the internet really. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs. 67.173.62.22 14:26, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Super Shadow's color

Stop saying that he's cream colour! Cream is not a colour it's a food(and a name)! The correct term is beige.:MindWraith

Cream IS a color and happens to be Super Shadow's REAL coloring. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs.

Where did you get that information from, the official website? I don't remeber him being given the offiacial "colour" of cream, and beige is more technicaly accurate.:MindWraith

Funny, I don't remember any official sources saying beige is the color and beige is too dark compared to cream and Super Shadow's coloring - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs 67.173.62.22 14:54, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

I agree with you "Tails Ohki" on Super Shadows real color

How about yellow-cream then? That looks about right.:MindWraith

As must as I don't see the yellow in it, I'll go with it. - "Tails Ohki" from GameFAQs 67.173.62.22 05:56, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Next to Super Sonic, Shadow looks kind of yellow to me.:MindWraith

erm...I have the actual texture file for Super Shadow's color...should that be uploaded to allow the reader to make their own conclusions? Grandmastergalvatron 03:10, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

That seems pretty excessive. --InShaneee 03:12, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

I would like to know if I could post a CG shot of Super Shadow in this article Grandmastergalvatron 19:21, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

2 of them, Silver as the old style and Bright Yellow as the new one. SoundPound500000 October 28, 2006 8:04 a.m.

To everyone editing this article

Please, please, PLEASE, use grammer! The run ons are unbelievable! GAH! If you use more than two commas in a sentace and it isn't a list or an apposotive, chances are it's a run on. Use periods or semicolons (;). Since I'm an anon IP I can't help a lot anyway, but come on! GRAMMER! ARGH! SPELLING! IT"S NOT THAT HARD! --69.145.122.209 03:02, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

What are you babbling about? You only made one edit, based on the Shadow the Hedgehog comic secion. And you are moaning already about the damn grammar!?

>x<ino 03:16, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

I've made 30+ edits, and half of them were reverts of people putting stuff back in I'd already taken out! --69.145.122.209 03:22, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

And do you realize 3/4 of this article was a run on until I simplified it? I'm not taking all the credit (I only did a small part), but I did make it quite a bit cleaner. --69.145.122.209 03:29, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I cleaned it up somewhat. And I found a lot of mistakes in the relationships section: (I'm bolding the ones that are especially wrong)

"Shadow has no true family. He was created by Professor Gerald Robotnik and was infused with Black Doom's DNA, and he became friends with the Professor's granddaughter, Maria. Maria saved him from the ARK at the cost of her own life. Her sacrifice continues to haunt him until he finally decided to let go of his past at the end of Shadow the Hedgehog.

While Shadow has formed some relationships with other characters in the series, his approach to Doctor Eggman is different. While Sonic always tries to prevent Eggman's plans from succeeding, Shadow prefers to watch from afar. This is evidenced by his lack of involvement in the Sonic Advance series, Sonic Rush, and the storyline of Sonic Riders (in which Eggman's activities are scaled back).

Shadow considers his greatest rival to be Sonic. Thinking of him as arrogant, foolhardy and irritating, Shadow makes no secret of his disdain for Sonic, and they end up fighting almost every time they meet. On certain occasions, the two hedgehogs must work together to save the world, but they will only agree to do so after it has become clear that the threat is too great for either of them to handle alone, even in their Super forms.

Shadow saved the life of Rouge the Bat in Sonic Adventure 2, although he was more likely simply trying to save the Chaos Emerald in Security Hall. Afterward, the two formed an unlikely alliance in which Rouge used her expert treasure-hunting skills to further their cause. It is possible that Shadow's unusual attachment to Rouge may be due to his memory of Maria, and he didn't want to see another life lost. Rouge later released Shadow from his stasis pod at the beginning of Sonic Heroes, although seemingly out of curiosity. She also rescued him from Gimmie Shelter in Sonic Battle."

Now this is why it's wrong:

  • "Shadow prefers to watch from afar. This is evidenced by his lack of involvement in the Sonic Advance series, Sonic Rush, and the storyline of Sonic Riders (in which Eggman's activities are scaled back)." Just cause he doesn't appear in those games doesn't mean he likes to watch from afar. It's speculation. Besides, Rouge isn't in those games either.
  • "Shadow considers his greatest rival to be Sonic." More speculation. Just because it looks like it, it doesn't mean it is.
  • "...they end up fighting almost every time they meet. On certain occasions, the two hedgehogs must work together to save the world, but they will only agree to do so after it has become clear that the threat is too great for either of them to handle alone, even in their Super forms." They end up fighting cause they usually have to. In Sonic Battle, it's not cause their rivals, it's because Shadow wants Emerl. And if Tails was in that position, Shadow would fight him as well. And I don't think they will only agree to work together if the threat is too great for either of them to handle alone. It's more speculation!
  • "...although he was more likely simply trying to save the Chaos Emerald in Security Hall." Speculation and it contradicts with, "It is possible that Shadow's unusual attachment to Rouge may be due to his memory of Maria, and he didn't want to see another life lost." The latter is more likely, but it's more speculation. It should be put something along the lines of, "Shadow may have said he was just trying to save the Chaos Emeralds, but it's possible that, due to his memory of Maria, he didn't want to see another life lost." Something like that. BTW, "...Shadow's unusual attachment to Rouge..." Unusual is opinionated.
  • "...formed an unlikely alliance..." Unlikely is opinionated.
  • "...seemingly out of curiosity..." Speculation.

I would've fixed this up, but when I did last time, someone put it back. So who disagrees that I should fix those up? --71.105.9.183 19:14, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Go ahead, as far as I'm concerned. I made the edits to improve the readability of the article, but considering I am not an expert on the subject, I made little to no attempt to change the overall content of what was there when I started. I fully admit the content itself may be totally wrong - I was simply going for making it read better. — KieferSkunk (talk)21:02, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks to both of you. Muuuuuuuuch better. --69.145.122.209 21:49, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Like I said, it's clean up date! Clean up this article, make it better!
By 7th of April, I will give this article an award if it does recover from the vandal and looks so much better than before...but if it doesn't, well at least we cleaned it up:P

>x<ino 00:33, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I cleaned it up some more, but I still found some difficult problems:

  • There's no brief overview!
  • There are some very short paragraphs.
  • More notes, references, and external links (references and notes are more important).
  • Sources for unreliable things, such as "Many fans want David Humphrey..." Often, things like that need a source. If there is no sources by April 6, I shall remove that content (unless other Wikipedians want more time).

So please help me try to solve these problems! --71.105.1.213 18:48, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

BTW, 69.145.122.209, just because you're an anon, you can still help a lot. For instance (I know this is going off the subject of Shadow, but I'll talk about this just for a little bit), I'm about the only person to edit the Tikal the Echidna article. If you check the history section, you will probably see a lot of my IP addresses, except for a few users. --71.105.1.213 18:52, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

hmmm...seem like a lot of work on that article. I might check it out, because I can see some mistakes!

>x<ino 18:57, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

It would be great if you did check it out, cause it's having a peer review right now, and I'm not sure if there's anything else wrong with it. --71.105.1.213 23:20, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

I read an article and it clearly states that Shadow is Silver even though he does look beige!

As I was informed, Super Shadow's colour is a gold variation. A polygon image of him from SA2 was modifed into silver and was next to the original. The original had a much richer gold colourisation (spelling?... or even a real word?). Dark-Chaos 07:41, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Whoo!

Looks great. I think it's finally done-the fancruft removed, the extra information taken out, therun on's shortened... Perfect. I think we all did a good job. Special thanks to 71.104.188.207, for probably having the best grammer and writing skills out of all of us. --69.145.122.209 22:08, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! And thank you for helping out, too! I think this article will soon be ready for a peer review. Yeah! --71.105.1.213 23:18, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Awesome job, everyone. Should we go for FA status?! -- RattleMan 23:40, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, of course! But before we get a peer review, we need to solve these problems:

  • References and footnotes/notes required!
  • A brief overview of the article!
  • Some paragraphs are too short!
  • Pictures need a good rationale!

Unfortunately, I don't exactly know how to fix those things up. --71.105.1.213 23:45, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

Let me take a whack at it. --69.145.122.209 02:56, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Bah. A couple of minutes of dinking around in this article made me realize why I usually stick with grammer. Too hard. Oh, well. Guess I'll stick with fixing copy-editing. :)--69.145.122.209 03:12, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, thanks for trying, and I'm glad you help with the grammer. --71.105.1.213 06:32, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

ARGH! It's "grammar", not "grammer"! Misspelling doesn't help the clarity of an article! --Luigifan 03:09, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Relationship section

I'm sorry that I'm complaining about the relationship section again, but it needs to be cleaned up!

I am bolding the really bad mistakes again: "Perhaps Shadow's greatest rival can be said to be Sonic, whom Shadow finds foolhardy, arrogant, and irritating, while Sonic finds Shadow to be violent, humourless, and cold. When they first met in Sonic Adventure 2 they immediately became fierce enemies, but over time began to slowly develop respect for each other. They still fight often, but on certain occasions the two hedgehogs have to work together to save the world. However, this is usually only when the situation calls for it. When the world is in great danger, Shadow and Sonic often work together without hesitation (i.e. Shadow fought the Biolizard while Sonic went to the shrine in Sonic Adventure 2)."

This is why it's wrong:

  • "Perhaps Shadow's greatest rival can be said to be Sonic, whom Shadow finds foolhardy, arrogant, and irritating, while Sonic finds Shadow to be violent, humourless, and cold." Perhaps is speculation, it should be something like, "Sonic is one of Shadow's rival..." And how do we know that Shadow finds Sonic "foolhardy, arrogant, and irritating"? It's more like Shadow doesn't care about Sonic and just sees him as someone in the way. And how does Sonic find Shadow to be "violent, humourless, and cold"? Perhaps cold might be right, but what about violent and humourless? When had they ever said or (explicitly) implied these things? Just because it looks like it, doesn't mean it is.
  • "When they first met in Sonic Adventure 2 they immediately became fierce enemies..." It's correct, but are they actually "fierce"?
  • "They still fight often, but on certain occasions the two hedgehogs have to work together to save the world. However, this is usually only when the situation calls for it." I don't think the two hedgehogs mind working together, not "just when the situation calls for it." It's not like they argue about it for a bit until finally agreeing to work together! And in Sonic Heroes, they fight, but only because Rouge thinks they'll end up getting in their way. So it's not like Shadow was the one who started it. In Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic works together with Shadow a lot (even though Shadow doesn't want it), which means that Sonic doesn't seem to mind working together with Shadow. Therefore, this sentence is wrong and should be revised!

So are there any complaints? BTW, again, I'm sorry to be complaining so much about this section - I just really wanna clean it up! --71.104.189.192 18:57, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

I agree wholheartedly. And it's not complaining to much as it is improving. I'd love to help, but my journalism skills always revolve around my voice (which is opinionated and humourous). Grammer is easy; you just fix it. Re-writing things is hard for me, because Wikipedia needs a NPOV. Something I have trouble with. :) --69.145.122.209 21:37, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Then I'll fix this up! :):) BTW, if your skills revolve around your voice, you'd probably be a good author! Whenever I write, I never seem to have enough imagination or humor! --71.104.184.130 18:38, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Some Rouge X Shadow maniac has written his/her POV all over the section, so I edited it back to the NPOV version, though it's only as accurate as my memory, whomever first wrote the NPOV Rouge/Shadow relationship section feel free to edit my version to improve on it. - Robo102

Sources

Today is the day I get rid of things such as, "Some people believe Shadow is calmer since his voice had lost its aggressive, overconfident tone, but this cannot be confirmed, especially since it's based only on Shadow's voice." If there is no sources for it, it's going to be removed soon. So does anyone want more time to get a source for it, or disagree that I should get rid of it? --71.104.184.130 18:51, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Actually, I think the voice actors changed at that point in time, didn't they? --69.145.122.209 21:48, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, it's still there there, such as, "Many fans want David Humphrey to return as his voice in the games." --71.105.4.113 18:44, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

You know, I cleaned some things up with good reason (which was mentioned on this talk page) but it got reverted again! Does anybody know why? --71.105.4.113 18:46, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
I think someone who wrote it originally is convinced their version it much better (which is not true) and would like to keep it. I'd put "Re, Talk Page" in there, so they can see why it's wrong. --69.145.122.209 21:47, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! :):)--71.105.4.113 22:27, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

No problem. :) --69.145.122.209 23:39, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

I think there's something more to Maria. She has to be something like Shadow's mother or something. She can't just be a girl aboard the ark who seems to have a close relationship with Shadow. Ya know, Shadow shaould be put on the template as Hero because of the last story in STH i did that last night but someone swiched it please don,t do that.

Just because he does one heroic thing does not make him a hero. --InShaneee 02:09, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

Picture

Um, does the front picture actually have to say, "Shadow, as seen on the Sonic Channel"? Why not just, "Shadow the Hedgehog" or something. --71.105.1.23 00:31, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

Good point. Taken care of. :)--69.145.122.209 02:03, 9 April 2006 (UTC)

I put that there just because that is the source, but since it's the main picture, I guess that sounds better.

Thanks for taking care of it! --71.105.12.41 02:19, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Yep. And the source doesn't always have to be the name, although it is usually. --69.145.122.209 22:20, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Often, the source is inside the picture link. --71.105.10.23 16:20, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Hey, why is the picture on the front in the same place as the Shadow the Hedgehog section? --71.105.10.23 16:33, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, I fixed it up now! --71.104.187.141 03:07, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Shouldn't the Sonic Channel picture be the main one, it is the most recent official art of Shadow.

Personality section

I changed the personality section because it kept sounding like Shadow was very violent, aggressive, and destructive. Well, Shadow has a softer side! Because:

1) Shadow actually cried before! In SA2, when Amy Rose reminded Shadow of Maria, Shadow had a tear drop in his eye. If you don't believe me, check the game and you'll see something sparkle in his eye.

2) Shadow was softer when he was talking to Maria almost all the time.

Also, I got rid of the sentence talking about two cents because I don't know what that simile meant. If you want to put that sentence back, you can, but please don't put in simile form.

And in the show, Sonic X, Shadow does have a soft side, just like the game. --71.104.180.139 18:55, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

To me, Shadow is extremely sensetive and caring, and tries to cover it up by acting cruel and angry. --69.145.122.209 00:22, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
Yes, that's true! So why does it sound like Shadow is so violent and aggressive? --71.104.177.52 18:33, 18 April 2006 (UTC)
I think whoever founded the article decided he wasn't, and it just stuck. --69.145.122.209 22:04, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Well, I don't mean to start any edit wars, but I'll keep changing it and say, "See talk page" until that person either argues his/her point or acknowledges it as true. --71.118.81.144 07:23, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

It is true that Shadow has a softer side. However, all the things said about Shadow being a lone wolf and being violent, aggressive, and destructive are true as well. Whether his aggressiveness is an act or not, he still likes being alone and he often treats others in a very cruel or uncaring manner. Since Shadow has a softer side, I think it should be represented in the article. However, I do not think that Shadow should be made to look any less aggressive or dark then he is to convey this fact. Personally, I think that the text in the article is almost perfect. Maybe with a few more edits, you can show that Shadow has a softer side while keeping the current text and it's current meaning intact.72.235.129.253 07:03, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Hoku
I believe we should change this now. It's turned out that Shadow has been all destructive and evil and what not since being shut into that capsule due to Mephiles the Dark. -Chao9999 20:51, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Quills

I wanna say somewhere that Shadow's quills in Sonic Adventure 2 are exactly the same as Super Sonic's... or is that not worth mentioning?

I don't think so, though it might be worth mentioning that hedgehogs do not have quills, they have spines. -- VederJuda 00:15, 22 April 2006 (UTC)

About his debut...

Was he truly the main villain of Sonic Adventure 2, or was it Gerald Robotnik? For me, it's Shadow.

I'm not sure if Sonic Adventure 2 had a main villain. To me, Shadow was a villain among several other villains in that game. 72.235.129.253 07:24, 3 May 2006 (UTC)Hoku

Accent?

is it just me or didn't it sound like Shadow had a English accent in Sonic Adventure? it sounded like it to me

That sentence is so funny and improbable.--Schwarzes Nacht 11:58, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Super Shadow

There are some unconfirmed "facts" in this section.

Super Shadow is the transformed state of Shadow. Shadow can perform this transformation when he harnesses the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds. In this form, his body color changes from black to a bright yellow-cream or lemon cream color, and all his powers and abilities are enhanced up to their limit. -We do not know that Super shadow's powers are his limits, he may be able to become stronger.-

Super Shadow made his first appearance in Sonic Adventure 2, where he had to battle against the Finalhazard with Super Sonic. Like Sonic, Shadow requires rings in order to maintain this super form. Super Shadow has greatly enhanced speed, -We have never seen Super shadow run, only fly, so we are not %100 sure he is faster-

-I am. If you pay close attention in SA2 while super Shadow, if you don't use the dash move and just go, you will notice that the "Max Speed" lines that appear when a character is at max speed appear very quickly and his hair begins to move. That's as good an indication as any that he is faster Grandmastergalvatron 04:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

can fly, and is nearly invincible. -They say he is invincable, not nearly invincable.-

-but he is "nearly invincible". Play the Devil Doom fight in Shadow the Hedgehog. When you are hit by doom's fire you are blown backwards, but if you have Chaos Control/Balst powered up, you can sit there and nothing will happen to you. Grandmastergalvatron 04:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Moreover, in Shadow the Hedgehog, more of Super Shadow's powers are revealed. Super Shadow's powers include his Air Dash, Chaos Spear, Chaos Control, and Chaos Blast. - the "Air Dash" is nothing but the jump dash and if he gets close to Devil Doom he'll start using homing attack.

So unless it is officialy stated, keep it out of the section.

-do they EVER officially state a Super Form's powers? I had to go look in the files in Sonic Heroes PC just to prove Knuckles and Tails are super! Most things have to be deduced on your own. Though being able to crack open PC versions helps ^^ Grandmastergalvatron 04:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

I need some help removing excessive wikilinks from this article, as someone keeps adding them back in every time I take them out. Basically, guidelines say that in general, a term should only be wikiliniked the first time it appears in an article. However, here, terms are wikilinked pretty much every time they appear. Anyone want to help de-link them and keep them that way? --InShaneee 14:22, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Yes. The anon IP's (excluding myself), however, want them to stay there. I've tried time and time again to get this page protected, but nothing helps. --69.145.123.171 20:20, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Well, you're talking to an admin right here. Gimme a hand, take 'em out, and if they put 'em back in, warn 'em and link 'em to the guideline. I would have reverted their re-adding before, but it would have lost some of your edits. --InShaneee 20:24, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
'Kay. Working on it as we speak...--69.145.123.171 21:16, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Alright. Done. I think I got most of them. --69.145.123.171 21:36, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Cool, much appreciated. Now, we just need to give the PR request a few days to gather comments, and we can begin the road to a Featured Article! --InShaneee 21:41, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Heh. I would love to get FA status. Somehow I doubt it will happen, but still. Now that I think about it, I could source these... Uno momento...--69.145.123.171 21:46, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
Dangit... I can't do it right now. I did a few (3, I think) it's just tough to find anything that's not about the game of the same name. --69.145.123.171 22:09, 29 May 2006 (UTC)

Section swapping

Coming along nicely...but here's a thought: Should we move "Other appearences" up above "Abilities" so we can catch it in the Spoiler tags? --InShaneee 19:10, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

I'd move "Abilities" and "Super Shadow" up before "Appearances" so that article discusses his attributes first, and then when/where he appears. This should have the same effect, with the added bonus that the article is split into two logical sections. --DavidHOzAu 12:48, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

Note: if my suggestion is how it was before, forget it, just do as you suggest. I don't really edit this article much. --DavidHOzAu 12:50, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
No, actually, that's not a bad idea. I was kind of poking around to see if anyone knew if there was precedent for any specific order of topics, but if not, I think we should go with your suggestion. --InShaneee 15:28, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

transgenic hedgehog....

Actually, wouldn't Shadow be a 'black arm' alien? Shadow was created from Black Doom's blood, so that makes him an alien that only looks like a hedgehog, right? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Superbub (talkcontribs) 19:02, 2 July 2006 (UTC).

I just edited it,so if anyone wants to change it back, they can, but please explain why.Thank You. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Superbub (talkcontribs) 19:12, 2 July 2006 (UTC).

I also edited the Black Arms page, including Shadow in it. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Superbub (talkcontribs) 19:28, 2 July 2006 (UTC).

I added Transgenic after finding the article in one of my Wikipedia surfing sessions. ("Transgenic" actually redirects to "Genetically modified organism".) Note that while he may be part alien, Shadow is a hedgehog more than he is a Black Arm alien. Strictly speaking, it is therefore more accurate to refer to Shadow as a Transgenic Hedgehog. --DavidHOzAu 10:32, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Ah... that makes sense...but, did Gerald use an actual hedgehog? I never thought of it some way.--Superbub

Regardless, he's pretty hedgehog-y now. --InShaneee 23:21, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Yep, "Hedgehog" is his dominant trait. I think "Transgenic Hedgehog" is a lot better. --DavidHOzAu 08:08, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Whoa, hold on! He may look like a hedgehog, but all I was saying was that he was created with Black Doom's blood, so that would make him a black arms alien. In Westopolis after you swap weapons on the ground, if you wait in the next area a second or so, Doom's eye will say "Our race is marked by red and jet black skin...just like YOU." which would define him as a black arms. The only reason he might look like a hedgehog is because of Gerald's study on Echindna culture(he probably saw the mural of Super Sonic and Eggman; this is just a theory, but I think this is correct). I won't edit it this time, but could you at least consider my input? thank you again.--Superbub

I'm still going to have to disagree. He may have black arms dna, but I think this is a case of "if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck...". --InShaneee 00:47, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, guess you're right.Thanks, anyway--Superbub

I just saw that someone added black arms in paraentheses behind Transgenic Hedgehog, and I swear I didn't touch it.--Superbub

Images

Wow, nice imagery but they're obviously all redundant and depict essentially the same character. According to the Fair Use policy this is a bit excessive. They also lack source information, so they could be deleted at anytime. I've removed them from the article. -Randall Brackett 18:51, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Alright

WHO exactly deleted the Sonic the Comic online part!?I only read about 7 actual STC issues...(9 including scans) but it's still well ebough known to be mentioned.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.142.132.92 (talkcontribs)

No, it's not. It's unofficial fanfiction, which warrants a 1-2 line mention at the very best. --InShaneee 19:54, 13 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, it's backed by quite a few people who worked on the official comic. And my initial question was IS IT WELL ENOUGH KNOWN and, there happens to be a link to it at the botom of the STC article.
My answer is that web data will show that it is not notable enough (as demonstrated by the deletion of its article). The link at the bottom is more than sufficient. --InShaneee 20:18, 15 July 2006 (UTC)

Sonic X Abilities

"...Shadow becomes weak without his power rings." Huh? In the episodes I've seen, the rings on his gloves and shoes act as power restrainers. When they're removed, he can destroy an entire battleship in one attack. --Banjotooie142

Rhetorical question: What happens after he has completed his attack? Fatigue, unconsciousness, or a coma, with the last being more likely. (okay, so it wasn't rhetorical.) --DavidHOzAu 04:12, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Deleted image

It appears that "Image:Shadow01.jpg" has been deleted. --Alexie 01:24, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

I got this image from the page history. --DavidHOzAu 01:54, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
I replaced the image with that image. Someone was using ugly image that was the same thing, but was too small and was being stretched--it looked bad on the page. --Brandon Dilbeck 23:45, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

What about the Chaotix?

In the Relationship section, it mentions that Shadow has a connection with Amy Rose. I know this is true, but don't you think it's fair to point out that he knows the Chaotix.

In Shadow the hedgehog, certain levels of the game involving the Chaotix, show that they are aquainted Shadow and at least know him. After the Mad matrix level when Eggman tells Shadow he's a robot (Or something like that.) Espio tells him to stay focused and don't listen as Eggmans just trying to trick you. Doesn't that mean it at least shows a concern for Shadow?

Also Charmy seems to trust him, even more than Tails. Also in one of the cut scenes,

Vector helps out and thinks that Shadow isn't a android, but the real one.

I don't know if it's just me but I think if the wordings right, and that it is put in the right context, The Chaotix Team is worth a mention, even just a small one.

Names

The Shadow with the yellow strips what is his name does he have one? And how do the Shadow androids and look-a-like use Chaos Blast

I don't have the game anymore, but I believe the androids who had weapons from the start couldn't use chaos blast or control. I believe the yellow striped shadow is just an android aswell, like the ones in the more advanced levels while fighting Robotnik, err eggman.Czin 14:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

The androids have all the same abilities as Sahdow. I've used Chaos blast several times and Chaos Control is not allowed due to the arena shape. Grandmastergalvatron 00:27, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

Relatives

I think it would be more easy to look up Shadow's relatives in his infobox, and besides, you left out Shellshock in relationships and that goes for the other Sonic characters.

SEGA says...

"Recently, SEGA said that Shadow's actual speed is the same as Sonic's[760 MPH,and can use Sonic's X Factor because Shadow can mimic anything used by Sonic by seeing it only one time" Where can this be confirmed?Czin 00:07, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Corrections in the Opening Paragraph

Okay, this is the user AtomicIrritantDevlin. I was too lazy to log on, but I have some complaints. First of all, people do not call Shadow 15, they call him 50. Heis physically aged about 15. He is NOT the same age as Sonic, he just APPEARS to be. Also, he is not Sonic's evil self. he has no verified connections to sonic beyond being his rival and looking like him. While he is an evil twin cliche, he is not ACTUALLY Sonic's evil counterpart or anything- particularily because he isn't evil, he's "neutral". Someone fix this crap. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.64.223.203 (talkcontribs) 20:02, 18 September 2006 (UTC).

IGN got some exclusive info just before TGS which stated that he is fifteen. He is the physical age of fifteen (no, he's not even at least fifty--throughout all that time he was in suspended animation, so he did not age). In technical terms, he'd be over fifty, yes. However, his physical age (yes, I know that he also 'technically' does not age, but aside from that aspect--he wouldn't have aged anyway as he was in suspended animation). On technical terms--he's over fifty, but he's still the age of fifteen, so it should be noted in the article. For the rest of it, it can clearly be fixed. Shadow was never 'evil' from the start, just not fully good. --Ultima 15:49, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

Rouge

AtomicIrritantDevlin again. Not that i want to be a shipper or anything, but shouldn't someone make SOME note of Rouge blatantly hitting on Shadow in Sonic Battle? Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. She did call him handsome or some crap like that.

The only line made in the game by Rouge which could possibly be interpreted as interest in Shadow was, "He doesn't look too bad...", however he was unconscious and badly injured at the time, therefore the line could also be interpreted as merely an analysis of his injuries. Because both of these possibilities are mere interpretations spawned by opinions and not facts created from evidence, the recording of this alleged "fact" would be unencyclopedic and thus it will not be recorded as fact. No shipping 4 you.

Besides, with your logic, it should also be recorded on Tails' article that Rouge "blatantly hit on" the two-tailed wonder also. - Robo102

For the record, she said not bad looking. plus, she did flirt, albeit less, during SA2B. Until she started to think he's a robot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.126.59.28 (talkcontribs)

That's also a POV as Rouge doesn't officially have a first boyfriend. We also don't know if she's monogamous or not.

Good Article?

How far is this one from GA and subsequently FA status? I haven't seen any complaints about this one GrandMasterGalvatron 14:44, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Unfortuanly, we have yet to solve the major problem from the peer review of not having many, if any, sources. --InShaneee 19:22, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
