story?
[edit]As someone who came across this page through a random link, I know nothing about the show and have a suggestion from that viewpoint. Move the STORY section that explains about the show higher, perhaps to section (1) of the article rather than (4) where it is now. If I'm intrigued by the description I'm more likely, as a newcomer, to want to read that first rather than a list of planets.
True title
[edit]You should know that the shows actual title was "WAR PLANETS." Because of restrictive laws in Canada, the show could not be shown there under that title, so the alternate title, "Shadow Raiders" was applied. The show was canceled in the US after its first season, and only shown in Canada, so the Canadian title stuck and became the shows retroactive full title. -- Jason Palpatine 07:05, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
- To say it was "canceled" after its first season is slightly inaccurate. It was shown in the USA in first-run syndication, so local stations could do whatever they wanted with it. I can confirm that some stations, like KOFY in the San Francisco Bay Area, did air the first season but decline to run the second. Some might have shown the second. I think the real reason why the Canadian name was chosen for DVD distribution was that it was cheaper for ADV to encode, press, and package a single North American release than to do separate USA and Canadian releases. Otherwise, Jason is correct. The show's real name is War Planets, and you can even see the words "War Planets" above the "Shadow Raiders" logo. 98.234.13.133 (talk) 18:46, 31 March 2024 (UTC)
Computer Game
[edit]I had a demo back when these were out of a computer game based on the series. The game looked pretty cool, but I have no idea if the full version ever actually came out... Any word on that? --Serow 02:04, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
There was a game released in 1997 called War Planets: Age of Chaos. [1]
Spoiler tag?
[edit]I believe a spoiler tag is rather necessary somewhere here. The article basically contains the entire story developed in the series, doesn't it?
