Talk:Sha'ir (Dungeons & Dragons)

New focus

I think this article presents us with an opportunity to experiment with a new way of retaining D&D information about classes, monsters, races, etc. that are based on the mythologies of various world cultures. There is another article, sha'ir, which is currently a redirect, but which is ostensibly about the Arabian poet upon which this character class is based. My suggestion is as follows. We redirect this article to that one, and then convert that to an article about the poet, with a section about the D&D adaption of the concept. I have found two sources about the original sha'ir already, with little effort:

I really think this approach could help us a lot, by both giving more historical context to the fictional character, and letting us reference TSR and WoTC books as non-primary sources, since they are derivative of the mythological idea. —Torchiest ^talk_edits 23:31, 8 January 2013 (UTC)
