[edit]
  • The intersexual selection link leads just to this page, not a specific part, making it redundant.
    • Ah you mean intra-...: fixed.
  • Birds-of-paradise in our other articles seems to be hyphenated.
    • Done.
  • "Sexy son hypothesis" is hilarious.
  • I don't think Keulemans' year of death is relevant in the caption for the image.
    • Removed, but it is the only date available. We could say "before 1912".
  • " in The Origin of Species" → " in On the Origin of Species"
    • Done.
  • The first sentence is Fisherian runaway is run-on and could do with a split or colons/semicolons.
    • Runaway run-on, a first. Split.
  • "for another 50 years he said:" → What's citing this?
    • Well it's Dawkins, but I've removed it.
  • Also provide a reference for the quote after that sentence.
    • Eh? It's cited to Fisher already. We shouldn't have to do it twice.
  • Refs 12 and 13 should be moved to the end of the sentence.
    • Done. By the way, it'd help enormously if you'd name the refs as a) one can't see numbers while editing, and b) numbers change through many types of edit.
  • Same for the first use of ref 14, because that isn't a quote.
    • No, the adjective requires direct citation or it'll be challenged.
  • "behind, and their quality" → Comma unnecessary.
    • The punctuation is correct.
  • The mountain gorilla image caption needs a citation for "very large males"
    • Done.
  • What is "anisogamy"? A gloss or link would be helpful.
    • Linked.
  • "having sexy sons" is kind of misleading wording that doesn't really convey what it means.
    • Edited.
  • Put the Montezuma swordfish's scientific name in parentheses.
    • Done.
  • "the nymphs hatch" → Link nymph.
    • Done.

Images

[edit]
  • Not needed for GA, but consider adding alt text.
    • Indeed not. Added.
  • The Keulemans illustration needs a PD-US tag.
    • Added.
  • All the other image licensing seems to be fine.
    • Noted.
  • Perhaps move some of the images in the gallery next to teh relevant sections discussing them (like moving the snake or frog images next to In amphibians and reptiles or the riflebird/bowerbird image next to In birds)
    • All or none, really, and there isn't room beside the text.

References

[edit]
  • References are all from reliable sources and consistently formatted.
    • Noted.
  • Spot-checks on the following refs found they supported the claims they were used to cite:
  • "Sexual Dimorphism in Melanin Pigmentation, Feather Coloration and Its Heritability in the Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica)" (ref 58)
    • Noted.
  • "Gorilla beringei eastern gorilla" in Mammals of Africa (ref 25)
    • Noted.
  • "Genetic evidence for sexual selection in black ratsnakes, Elaphe obsoleta" (ref 57)
    • Noted.
  • Earwig is clear and three random phrases turned up only Wikipedia and mirrors when googled.
    • Noted.
