Article fork
[edit]This is a content fork from the main Crewe Alexandra F.C. article, which had a long and detailed account of how the United Kingdom football sexual abuse scandal had affected the club. However, the section made up around a quarter of the total Crewe article. During a Peer Review (here), it was suggested that the section be substantially reduced, with the detail retained in an additional article. This solution avoids complete deletion of the detailed account previously contained in the Crewe article, which could also have given rise to suggestions that the issue was being downplayed or 'airbrushed' from the club's history.
This article also additional Crewe-specific detail that is not included in the main UK article - as the scandal expanded, it proved difficult to include detailed information about every club's involvement in and response to the scandal. Paul W (talk) 16:55, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Sexual abuse scandal at Crewe Alexandra F.C.
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Sexual abuse scandal at Crewe Alexandra F.C.'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
