Chickenbreed Infobox
[edit]A new infobox {{Infobox Chickenbreed}} has been created for chicken articles. If you see anywhere it needs improved please contact User:Stepshep. If it meets your criteria it is requested you add it to this article's page for standardization. Thanks! §hep • ¡Talk to me! 17:04, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Corrections moved from article itself to talk page pending re-incorporation
[edit]- Correction: According to BackyardChickens.com, mating a Barred Male to any color female will not give you sex linked chicks, although barring is in itself somewhat sexable: males usually have a larger blotchier headspot and lighter color overall and females are darker with a more defined spot. This is not 100% accurate, though, and it may not hold true for barred crosses.
- Correction: According to BackyardChickens.com, a female white Rock must carry the silver gene for her to have sex linked chicks - not all white rocks do. ISA Browns are sold in the US as well as Europe. Cream Legbars are autosexing which means they do breed true.
I moved these notes. I did not create them. Somerut (talk) 15:41, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Name of article
[edit]The page name is currently Sex Link, but the article refers to sex-link. Should the page name be "sex-link chicken", "hybrid chickens", or "cross-bred chickens"? What is the best name for this page? Snowman (talk) 08:38, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

Sex Link → Sex link – Relisted. All of the other hybrids have both words capitalized. Is this the only one that is wrong, or is this right? Vegaswikian (talk) 19:28, 29 September 2011 (UTC) - Decapitalize. Lothar Klaic (talk) 15:27, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Multiple Language Errors
[edit]What a mess! This page is short, but includes multiple errors of misuse of the terms it is supposed to explain. It needs a complete rewrite from someone who knows the difference between a breed and a hybrid, and the difference between a sex-link hybrid and an auto-sex breed. For both practical and scientific reasons, they are very, very different. 64.178.133.236 (talk) 00:23, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
