Some proposed changes

[edit]

I would like to add some more information to make the first paragraph more accurate and useful:

Auka is a Norwegian, VC-backed financial technology company. Its PSD2 compliant technology platform, Settle, enables banks, telcos and distributors to issue mobile payments products to their private and merchant customers.

Under the history section, I would like to update the second paragraph to include some updated information:

In 2016, Auka was named as the fastest-growing fintech company by Deloitte Fast 500 EMEA[6][7][8] and was cited as one of the 16 hottest Nordic fintech startups by Business Insider[9]. It was named European Mobile Payments Platform of the Year 2017[10] and 2018 by CFI magazine [1] and was included in the European Fintech Awards Top 100 for 2017[11]. They also won Visa’s Everywhere Initiative Baltics and Nordics 2018.[2]

In the third paragraph of the history section, I would like to request that this is taken out: "such as API-hosting, for banks" as this isn't a core service for the company.

Under the Technology section, I would like to request the first paragraph is changed to read as follows to make it more accurate:

Auka's white-label products are designed to support banks' customer acquisition and revenue generation efforts[16] for banks, telcos and retailers, and are delivered using the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model. Auka was the first licensed financial services company to run entirely in the Google Cloud Platform[17][18][19]

In the last paragraph of this section, I would like to include reference to what the mobile payments platform is called to make it more accurate and useful. It is proposed that it would thus be changed to read:

Auka’s Peer-to-Merchant (P2M) mobile payments platform, Settle, enables retailers and SMEs to offer customers the option to pay for goods using their mobile phone.

  Unable to review edit request
Your edit request could not be reviewed because the request is not formatted correctly.

  1. The citation style predominantly used by the Auka (company) article appears to be Citation Style 1. The citation style used in the edit request consists of bare URL's.[a] Any requested edit of yours which may be implemented will need to resemble the current style already in use in the article – in this case, CS1. (See WP:CITEVAR.)
  2. Citation ref tags have not been placed within the requested text indicating which portions of the text the source is referencing. (See WP:INTEGRITY.) In particular, bracketed numbers have been placed within the proposed text, but these numbers are not linked to any reference on the talk page, making their integration within the article difficult, as the numbers in the brackets do not readily correspond to a source identified on the talk page.

In the collapsed section below titled Request edit examples, I have illustrated two: The first shows how the edit request was submitted; the second shows how requests should be submitted in the future.

Request edit examples
Incorrectly formatted request:

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles, while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.[1] The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.

<ref>https://www.booksource.com</ref>
<ref>https://www.journalsource.com</ref>
<ref>https://www.websource.com</ref>

In the example above there are three URL's provided with the claim statements, but these URL's have not been placed using Citation Style 1, which is the style predominantly used by the Auka (company) article. Additionally, the ref tags have not been placed within the text at the exact positions where the information they reference resides. In one instance, a bracketed number was placed in the text, but that number is not linked to any reference. The submitted edit request similarly uses bracketed bumbers which are not linked to any reference. Using the correct style and the correct positioning of the ref tags, the WikiFormatted text would resemble the following:

Correctly formatted request:

Please add the following sentence to the first paragraph of the article's "Sun and Moon" section:

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,<ref>{{cite book|last1=Sjöblad|first1=Tristan|title=The Sun|url=http://www.booksource.com|publisher=Academic Press|date=2018|page=1}}</ref> while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.<ref>{{cite journal|last1=Duvalier|first1=Gabrielle|title=Size of the Moon|journal=Scientific American|issue=78|volume=51|url=http://www.journalsource.com|date=2018|page=46}}</ref> The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.<ref>{{cite book|last1=Uemura|first1=Shu|title=The Sun's Heat|url=http://www.websource.com|publisher=Academic Press|date=2018|page=2}}</ref>

Which displays as:

Please add the following sentence to the first paragraph of the article's "Sun and Moon" section:

  • The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,[1] while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.[2] The Sun's temperature is 5,778 degrees Kelvin.[3]

In the example above the references have been formatted according to Citation Style 1, which shows the author, the source's name, date, etc. Also, the ref tags are placed in the exact location where the text which they reference resides. As Wikipedia is a volunteer project, edit requests such yours are generally expected to have this formatting done before the request is submitted for review.

Kindly rewrite your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example shown in the collapsed section above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor. Regards,  Spintendo  20:03, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

  1. ^ The use of bare URLs as references is a style which is acceptable for use in Wikipedia. However, general practice dictates that the style already in use for an article be the one that is subsequently used for all future additions unless changed by editorial consensus. (See WP:CITEVAR.)
