J.P.Morgan pallbearer?
[edit]J.P. Morgan died in 1913, Seth Low passed in 1916. The Web source says J.P. Morgan was the pallbearer but It could be refering his son.
Grandfather was mayor?
[edit]According to the Encyclopedia of New York City, Seth Low's father was Abiel Abbot Low of Salem, Massachusetts. He moved to Brooklyn in 1829 with his father - the Grandfather you refer to - but the Grandfather did not achieve any such fame.SSG Cornelius Seon (Retired) 03:34, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
According to the book "Seth Low: The Reformer in an Urban and Industrial Age", the grandfather (the elder Seth Low) was an "incorporator" when Brooklyn incorporated as a city in 1834. He was never mayor. I have updated the article to reflect that. - Kzirkel (talk) 20:17, 18 May 2015 (UTC)
Last Mayor of Brooklyn
[edit]An earlier version of this article made claim that Seth Low was the last mayor of the city of Brooklyn. He was not. The honor, in a manner of speaking, goes to Fredrick W. Wurster, whose term ran from January 02,1896 to December 31, 1898. Low held the post for two terms, from 1881 to 1885, well before the consolodation of the City of Brooklyn into Greater New York.

Not sure where the idea came from. Colleagues, do find supporting references before editing the encyclopedia, particularly if the edit entails the lead section. It's all that many read of an article; it has got to be right. Gosgood (talk) 13:04, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
