El Kún

I have seen both used. Which one is more correct?--192.194.238.242 (talk) 14:10, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

→Well, in Spanish, one syllable words don't use any written accent, so I presume it's Kun. --201.253.62.157 (talk) 15:01, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

→Yeah that's right, because his Atlético shirt has "KUN AGÜERO" on it, so presume it is just "Kun" and not "Kún" Brock (talk) 19:03, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Where was he born?

The Spanish version of this article says Agüero was born in Flores, Buenos Aires city.--Nico89abc (talk) 03:47, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Why two personal info sections? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.67.29.181 (talk) 16:40, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

International Goals Section

So what's the story with the International Goals table? It is unfathomable... Why do the matches have both a "score" and "result"; and why are they different? e.g. Uruguay Score 2-0 Result 2-1. El Badboy! (talk) 04:32, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I'm guessing the score, is the score the match was when Aguero scored. eg. score 1-0 and a result of 2-1 means Aguero scored to make it 1-0 I think. I didn't make it btw Spiderone (talk) 15:28, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Anyone good at Spanish?

Is it possible to bring some stuff from the Spanish wiki over to this one? Spiderone (talk) 16:31, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Problem

Im not a very experienced editor, so i didnt want to go trying to amend the problem towards the top of the article, but can someone who knows what theyre doing try either editing the error, or revert it back to the 30th October edition of the article? Brock 009 (talk) 10:10, 2 November 2009 (UTC)

Source of the "Kun" nickname

(And yes, It has no accent.)

The nickname was born when kids began noting that Agüero looked like, and combed his hair in the same style as, Japanese anime character Kum Kum. Sergio is currently married to Demi Gonzalez. Changing a final "m" to "n" happens all the time in Spanish (Abrahán, Jerusalén, Serafín...)

Kum Kum has no Wikipedia entry to his name, but for those wishing to see what it's all about, see this video. elpincha (talk) 03:27, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Aguero must have some especially talented cats is they were the ones to give him his nickname. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 152.42.166.92 (talk) 18:35, 1 December 2009 (UTC)

Edit protection?

Well, I guess that Sergio Aguero in Liverpool is quite popular subject at the moment. Well, that is almost sourceless or unreliable source information, so I think it would better to turn at least somekind of edit protection on. Is this encyclopedia, which is used by everyone everyday? --MrEskola (talk) 13:43, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Done The article is currently protected, hopefully this will stop all the recent speculation. Regards --Bocafan76 (talk) 21:25, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. It seems like the rumours have calm down, so edit protection was also already removed, so I think there is no problem anymore. --MrEskola (talk) 17:43, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Manchester City

As you see from the above change requests, changing information about clubs before they have signed is problematic. Please don't change clubs until he actually has signed a contract. Apparently he is in Manchester to do his medical. What if he doesn't pass? Wait for the signature, please. It shouldn't be long now, have a bit of patience. --OpenFuture (talk) 08:30, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Career stats

What are the rules on text % size in career stat boxes? It seems that Aguero's box takes up too much space and I have seen other pages with 85% text size and was wondering people's feelings on reducing the size of the box by changing the text size. Have the Editors noticed that in the main paragraph it mentions that he moved to Man C for a fee believed in the region £35 mill, and then in the opening para on his transfer to Man C, this is now £38 mill?46.7.85.68 (talk) 16:32, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Origin of his name.

Sergio Agüero's full name is Sergio Leonel Agüero. Unlike his six siblings who have taken their father's surname, del Castillo, he was named after his mother's, Agüero, since his parents were classified as minors. In order for Kun to have his father's surname, his parent should have been above 21 years old, however, they weren't. So there should've been the approval of his legal representative who could prove his paternity, there was no relative that could sign for him because they moved to Buenos Aires. (Link) That's why his surnames have been swapped. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rubydragons (talkcontribs) 07:34, 22 October 2015 (UTC)

Full name: Sergio Leonel Agüero del Castillo or not?

I need some clarification as to why Mattythewhite reverted what looks to me to be his full name. It is referenced in multiple places (of varying reliability): [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]. Cheers, --SVTCobra 15:48, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

See this thread on this page. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:50, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
The video explains why the names are swapped and he is Sergio Leonel Agüero del Castillo instead of Sergio Leonel del Castillo Agüero which would be normal under Spanish naming customs. The conclusion of the thread you linked is incorrect. --SVTCobra 16:45, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

Premier League team of the decade

Over the past four or five days, "Premier League team of the decade" has been added to Agüero's list of honours citing this source: "Premier League team of the decade: Who makes yours?" I have been removing it because it clearly seems to be WP:USERGENERATED and not an "official award" as some editors have claimed. This should be self-evident from this statement in the source: "We asked you to reflect on the past 10 years in English football's top flight and decide which players made your team of the decade." It is a popularity poll among BBC readers.

P.S. I also noticed, there seems to be a campaign to add this same "honour" to most if not all of the other footballers on the list. I think it should be removed from all of them. Cheers, --SVTCobra 12:51, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
