Organization and selection
[edit]How is the Sergeant chosen and by whom? Who does he answer or report to? - 174.46.204.210 (talk) 18:32, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
Paul D. Irving Home State
[edit]I have changed the home state for current Sergeant-at-Arms Paul D. Irving from Virginia to Florida after finding an External link to the resolution confirming him to that post which mentions that he most recently was a resident of Florida [1], and my research in creating and expanding the article on Irving found no apparent connection to Virginia on his part. --TommyBoy (talk) 23:18, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
Date since Timothy Blodgett is acting
[edit]Timothy Blodgett provides that he is acting Sergent at Arms since January 12, and the House Website is used as a source. But the House History Website provides that he is elected since January 11. I think both pages should have the same date, so the question is: What date is the correct one? --Tobi 406 (talk) 16:07, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- I note that the source on the House History Website refers to the Journal, which provides for Timothy Blodgett "to act as and to exercise the duties of Sergeant at Arms of the House of Representatives, effective today." --Tobi 406 (talk) 16:18, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
