List of appearances
[edit]The list of appearances is probably incomplete, because I don't have all the short story collections or comics, and the usual reference sites don't always mention a brief appearance by Benton or Yates. (They often say "featuring the Third Doctor, Jo and UNIT" or something like that, which doesn't tell me whether Benton specifically appears or not.) If anyone has a more complete collection and wants to double-check this (and Mike Yates, which I'll be getting to soon) that would be great. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 16:57, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
List Who Killed Kennedy?
[edit]In a matter somewhat related to the above, Benton appears in David Bishop's sidestep novel, Who Killed Kennedy. Late in the story, the narrating lead character, James Stephens, appears in the events that are the climax of the TV serial Day of the Daleks, and runs into a large UNIT sergeant. This is undoubtedly Benton, but I admit the identification is less conclusive than that of Jo Grant when Stephens sees her and the Doctor at the demonstration of the Keller Machine at Stangmoor Prison (The Mind of Evil). Is that too much synthesis to be put on the list here? --Ted Watson (talk) 22:33, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
First name?
[edit]I read somewhere his first name is John, is there any reason not to include this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.8.57.80 (talk) 18:18, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- It is mentioned, in the section "Other appearances," since it's been used in only non-TV material, and is therefore of debatable canonicity. --Ted Watson (talk) 21:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Appearances
[edit]My memories are a bit sketchy, but Benton was definitely in at least a couple of New Adventures - the alternate bitter version in Blood Heat, and then a more traditional version in No Future. BoomboxTestarossa (talk) 09:45, 17 December 2022 (UTC)
