flautino

There's a note in the score about a "flautino" in the first trio of the second minuet (same minuet as the post horn solo, but the other trio). Is that a flute? Or is that a piccolo? Or some other 18th century wind instrument? Thanks. DavidRF (talk) 17:36, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Someone linked "flautino" to the recorder article. Frankly I doubt that in this Mozart work the so called "flautino" could be a recorder. I think a piccolo flute would be the most likely but I don't know. But a recorder? Never heard of any other use in Mozart of a recorder! Contact Basemetal here 15:52, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
