Soetman

[1] "Later, in the mid-eighteenth century, the Danish East India Company sent Soetman to the Nawab of Bengal. Their intention was to secure a Parwana (district jurisdiction) allowing them the right to do business in Bengal. William Carey - Father of Bengali Prose?

I believe the information on William Carey being known as the "father of Bengali prose" (in the section Marshman and Carey, first sentence of the fourth paragraph) is incorrect as he did not write in Bengali, he just did translations. I also do not see any sources in the article to support that assertion. Carey is, however, known as the father of modern missions, and I believe that is what the author likely meant to say. In 1845 when the town of Serampore, comprising 60 Bighas, along with the districts of Akna, and Pearapore were eventually transferred from the King of Denmark to the British, the treaty ensured that Sheoraphuli Rajbari received an annual sum of 1601 sikkas thereon. Serampore and Sheoraphuli Situated alongside the sacred Ganges river, the town thrived and gained fame for its flourishing trade and commerce, owing to the convergence of three rivers - Ganga, Damodar, and Saraswati.
