Hello! I'll be reviewing this article. --Cerebellum (talk) 16:02, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks! Looking forward. JBchrch talk 05:08, 2 December 2021 (UTC)
Ok, all done! I could not find much to improve in this article, I just have a few comments below, but even if you don't make any changes the article still meets the criteria. I'm happy to pass as GA. I was interested to read the article because I have seen people on the Reddit stock forums mentioning this event as a harbinger of doom in the financial system, not sure if they are right but this article at least helped me understand what the repo market is! --Cerebellum (talk) 13:15, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
Criteria assessment
[edit]- Prose: I had to read some paragraphs a few times to understand them but I don't think that is your fault, this is just a technical topic.
- References: Article is thoroughly referenced with high-quality sources.
- Coverage: Article provides enough background to be accessible and covers the events in an appropriate amount of detail.
- Neutral: Yes.
- Stable: Yes.
- Illustrated: Yes.
Comments
[edit]- Rates hike: I recommend changing this title to "rate increase." Maybe it's just me but the phrase "rate hike" makes me think of the Fed raising interest rates.
- The tri-party market involves large, high quality dealers borrowing cash from money market funds. What does "dealers" mean in this and the next sentence? Banks? If so maybe just say banks.
- The MMF, in turn, would instruct its custodial bank to make the payment try Treasury. I think this sentence has a typo. Maybe should be "to" or "by" instead of "try"?
- Other suggested causes: Per WP:BULLETLIST, "No terminal punctuation is used with sentence fragments." --Cerebellum (talk) 13:15, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks so much Cerebellum. And thanks for your comments, which I will now implement. Yes, I saw these crazy people on Reddit lol. There was a nice Bloomberg article about it a few weeks ago: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-11-09/what-is-reverse-repo-fed-facility-reddit-superstonk-users-new-obsession. You can access it through the WikiLibrary in case you hit a paywall. JBchrch talk 17:24, 5 December 2021 (UTC)
