Term has much broader definition

[edit]

This article has a very narrow focus (semiconductor memory chips), while the term sense amplifier has a much broader definition. In the context of computer memory, the term has been used since the 1950s. I added two citations to make this point, but much more could be said. I did a quick Google patent search and was overwhelmed by pre 1960 uses of the term. Notably, sense amplifiers were also used with magnetic logic, so they are not just a memory technology. Someone needs to dig into this.

Sounds good to me, although I think a more pressing need is to improve the parts of the article on modern sense amplifiers. In it's present state the article is little more than a stub. --ChetvornoTALK 20:45, 21 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with both of you, I'll see what I can dig up to improve both its history and modern applications.--Deepon (talk) 10:00, 1 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
