[edit]I'm going to include references on this site, there are very few known, This was a very significant company but rare historical documents. There are many people interested in their products and many are still in use. This is historically significant and we intend to compile the data on here.
Since the Sensation brand is no longer made and the company that made them isn't in business anymore, and since the history of this American company has already proven of interest to many (as evidenced by a busy Yahoo group on the topic), I see no reason for this page to be contested. —Preceding unsigned comment added by In8sworld (talk • contribs) 12:38, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Issues discussion
[edit]- Advertising
I agree the last sentence seems a bit like advertising, even though they aren't sold anymore. I tried to add a few details of manufacture.
- Few Articles Link to this
Its new! It will take some time to find appropriate pages within Wikipedia to link over from, though a quick search shows that the history of lawn mowers in the US isn't as comprehensive as I thought it might be.
- Notability
This is a tough one. How and who decides what histories are important enough?

- Photos
I added an image of an original Sensation plate. I got permission to use the photo from the owner of the machine it was on, Mike S via email. In8sworld (talk) 13:21, 2 July 2008 (UTC)
Help!I added a larger version of the plate image that Mike S sent me, but I can't figure out how to use the small one on the page and show the larger one when clicked - I have to read up on wiki markup some more I suppose. If anyone can help me out in the meantime I'd sure appreciate it. In8sworld (talk) 10:43, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I cleaned this article to resolve it of its issues. In8sworld, I've found that a lot of editors automatically read any article about a business to be an advertisement. I changed some key wording and resolved any issue of that. I linked several articles to this; you can see which ones by "What links here" in the left navigation[1]. The company is plainly notable from what you've provided, as each of the articles is a reliable source. Good job! • Freechild'sup? 13:34, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- yes, I saw your work on the page in the history. Thank you so much for your help! In8sworld (talk) —Preceding comment was added at 14:09, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit]I have sent an email to the University of WI-Milwaukee for some information that they keep on WI businesses in a database there (which isn't online). If I'm able to get something on the Gilson Brothers I will start a page for that as well. In8sworld (talk) 10:35, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
