As the swathe of History text is attributed to one source, lazily copied and pasted, I have added an OS head temp as, as it stands, this article relies too much on one source. This opaque text also needs a copyedit and wikify to make it readable. Perhaps the editors who copy-pasted this dense text will have the courtesy to do this.
