The article needs to meet the following criteria WP:PROF.--Svetovid 12:07, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I dont want to discuss thıs ıssue to the eternity but ı think ıt does meet the crıterıa;

From WP:PROF; If an academic/professor meets any one of the following conditions, as substantiated through reliable sources, they are definitely notable

The person is regarded as a significant expert in his or her area by independent sources.

The person is regarded as an important figure by independent academics in the same field.

The person has published a significant and well-known academic work. An academic work may be significant or well known if, for example, it is the basis for a textbook or course, if it is itself the subject of multiple, independent works, if it is widely cited by other authors in the academic literature[1].

The person's collective body of work is significant and well-known.

The person is known for originating an important new concept, theory or idea which is the subject of multiple, independent, non-trivial reviews or studies in works meeting our standards for reliable sources. The person has received a notable award or honor, or has been often nominated for them.

Good job on copying the text here, but where are the references that prove that this guy meets the criteria?--Svetovid 18:07, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At least three wikipedia article mentions his name and and cite his works, ı think one doesnt need to save the world to have a place in wikipedia, right? i can improve the article in the future or somebodyelse can do it, for now im finding this discussion a bit futile and going to remove this delete thing...--laertes d 18:37, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One doesn't have to save the world (lovely straw man BTW), but they need to meet criteria.--Svetovid 18:55, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good to know that, ı didnt use other wikipedia articles for the recent edits..--laertes d 19:09, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Svetovid ı removed the delete request thing, he is indeed a notable historian, at least in turkey, believe me on that and i can provide further information some time in the future..--laertes d 19:22, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
