Songwriting credits were incorrect (many well-known traditional songs listed as Dylan originals). McGuinn comments

Unfortunately, the story McGuinn tells about "Self Portrait" isn't accurate. McGuinn and the Byrds were recruited to work at the first "New Morning" session.

The correct chronology is reported in Clive Davis' autobiography and in Heylin's original "Behind The Shades." McGuinn believed he was going to work on "Self Portrait" because he bought into the well-circulated myth that Dylan didn't start working on "New Morning" until after "Self Portrait" was released, but the Columbia session records have been dug out and published; they show that Dylan was working on the "New Morning" songs as early as March 1970, and all but one of the "New Morning" sessions took place before "Self Portrait" was released. Let me add this is a tough entry to right...I'll probably give up for now, but considering the Frankenstein nature of how it was recorded/mixed/pieced together from different sessions, writing up the complete details would be...uuuuuuuughhh.....

This article contains two instances of unapproprate language, both in quotes. I have rewritten these words with astersisks, to clean up the language.203.214.75.127

Copyvio?

The section "The making of Self Portrait" is almost entirely lifted from the Rolling Stone article, I don't think that its an interview changes its copyright status. I'm aware that there is a fair use principle that allows to quote articles and such, but lifting this large a chunk and making it so exclusive to the section seems counter to this principle. I'm not well versed enough in copyright policies to feel comfortable making any changes myself, but I find the section troubling, so thought I'd throw it out for discussion. Missing Songs

Vinyl / cd tracklistings

The listed tracklistings are simply untrue - there has only ever been a 24-track version of Self Portrait. The Mighty Quinn

"The Mighty Quinn" is not a 1967 Basement Tapes version. It is a live board tape from the 1969 Isle of Wight performance with the Band. I do believe 3 other tracks are from that performance, but I am not an expert on this album. Sojambi Pinola (talk) 18:02, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

Aftermath

Whoever is adding sections to articles entitled "Aftermath" has to stop, and this term has to be removed. Albums do not have aftermaths. They can have legacies, impacts, effects, or influences, but they cannot have aftermaths. That is an incorrect use of the word. This should be stricken from every entry and replaced with something accurate. PJtP (talk) 14:38, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
