Awesome draft

[edit]

Hi, This is going to be exciting to see this article see the light of day soon (User:Matthias S, User:MUsowicz)! I look forward to seeing it progress during the upcoming edit-a-thon! I know User:Rkeerswa will be there to assist you. Just one little hint: I would adjust the titles and their ordering according to this Manual of Style: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(Sanitation). Improvements

[edit]

User:Matthias S you may want to delete the last sentence of the introductory paragraph, unless you have a reference for it. Phrases such as "Many proponents" aren't the best for Wikipedia - these are termed 'Weasel words'. Please see more on this here Wikipedia:Manual of style/Words to watch Rkeerswa (talk) 15:54, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Re-arrange examples section

[edit]

I find that your examples section takes up too much space compared to the section on technologies. Also, would people really look by country and not rather by technology or system? How about re-arranging it so that the examples go together with the description of the technologies? Also, do you have enough about the management aspects?EMsmile (talk) 21:27, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't get a response for this, so I have just gone ahead and re-arranged the examples section. Further work is needed. EMsmile (talk) 14:00, 29 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's better now. I will ask some more people to work on this.Matthias S (talk) 10:11, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How about adding some images?

[edit]

You can probably find suitable images in Wikimedia Commons. It is easy to insert images, see here.

Bangladesh arsenic problem

[edit]

When I read this sentence "Bangladesh is one of the cases where self-supply has reached mainstream, with millions of tubewells and hand pumps in use." I am thinking of the issue with arsenic pollution of groundwater (see groundwater pollution and related articles). I think a sentence and links needs to be added as it points also to one problem that if tehre is not enough government oversight, people might be doing things that are unsafe. The Bangladesh arsenic poisoning from wells is quite a disaster. EMsmile (talk) 20:16, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've now added something on health risks and added a schematic that I took from the article on groundwater pollution where I had also inserted it. I am not an expert but I think this issue about health risks deserves to be built up a bit more with additional explanations and references. EMsmile (talk) 20:21, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Looks better now

[edit]

There is a new book, published in 2021, about this topic, which could be used to expand and update this article. This is the reference: [1] EMsmile (talk) 14:01, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
