Diocese in which church parish lies
[edit]I have raised a citation need against the statement that uniquely in England the parishioners voted to remain part of the Church in Wales and hence Diocese of St Asaph. I note that the colour picture of St Mary's Church from its gateway shows a blue painted sign board which appears to be headed 'Diocese of Lichfield' and whose diocesan coat of arms shows Lichfield's predominant red and white colouring, whereas the shield of St Asaph is white crossed keys on a black background. It may well have voted to be part of the Church in Wales but was their wish realised? The parishes in north west Shropshire previously under St Asaph became part of the Diocese of Lichfield following the disestablishment of 1920.Cloptonson (talk) 09:45, 2 September 2021 (UTC)
- I have discovered that it was not among the parishes canvassed in the Church of England border polls 1915-1916. Was there a poll taken in another year?Cloptonson (talk) 19:53, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
