This page is too brief for my liking. It fails to indicate the importance of security logs of all sorts - not just computer security logs. For example, a printed or handwritten log recording access to a controlled building, room, rack, document or some other controlled resource could also be called a security log - a "visitors' book" for instance, or a "maintenance log".
Furthermore, the comment about UNIX systems not logging is distinctly misleading. In my experience, logging is almost universal on servers, regardless of operating system: it is a necessary part of system and security management. Accountability is an important purpose e.g. recording and time-stamping events, alarms and alerts, error messages etc., indicating their sources/causes. NoticeBored (talk) 01:17, 28 June 2019 (UTC)
