Section emergency coordinator → Section emergency coordinator (ARRL) –
Per WP:CAPS and WP:TITLE, and because this is a generic, common noun, not a propriety term or a title, the article title should be downcased.
More importantly, each of these "occupation" articles needs to clearly state in the title that it's to do with an AARL position. Tony (talk) 04:47, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Oppose Unnecessary disambiguation. Shouldn't it be "ARRL" anyway? Kauffner (talk) 06:46, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Can you explain why it shouldn't be ARRL? Aren't there other section emergency coordinators? It's generally a bad idea for a generic term to be taken up without specification in an article title ... as though first-come first-served. What do people do if they want to create an article on a section emergency coordinator (i.e., a position) in another organisation? Tony (talk) 07:13, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- I changed the request to "ARRL". I hope that is what you meant to say. If I Google section emergency coordinator -wikipedia, the entire first page of hits relate to ARRL. So this would seem to be primary topic. If someone wants to create an equivalent article for another organization, they would have to disambiguate. But that would be true whatever this article is called. If someone wants to write an article about the SEC position in general, that is a different issue, one we can deal with when it arises. Even then, the article could be up 40k long before you would need to spin off organization-specific subarticles. Kauffner (talk) 09:00, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Oh heck, sorry, including (ARRL) is what I meant, and I can't believe I left it off. I think if the name of the occupation or position is very distinctive or unique, it might be OK. But "section emergency coordinator" isn't, and it should match the sibling articles in including ARRL. One of those is just "section manager", which is widely used.
