He is frequently referred to as the foremost guitarist of his generation. - Removed this unneccessary puffery which has an inglorious history here.
First added, without citation, attributed to The Scotsman; attribution changed falsely to a source that didn't mention it; then to a misquote of "one of the foremost..." from Shibe's then professional agent and soon tagged. Source replaced by Guardian ref which didn't mention it (tag left in place - so right!) but has malingered here, probably providing the source fulfilling its destiny.
A long quote from an unidentified edition of BBC Radio 3's Record Review also had the same Guardian article falsely attached to it (quote now tagged and Guardian ref removed) - Davidships (talk) 12:26, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
