Seafarer 30 vs the Swiftsure

[edit]

The "Seafarer 30" and the "Swiftsure 30" were different models producing at different times in Seafarer's history. Harrelson3 (talk) 01:26, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The cited sailboatdata.com ref says the Seafarer 30 Also called SEAFARER SWIFTSURE 30. That same website also lists the SWIFTSURE 30 (SEAFARER), which notes See SEAFARER 30 for more details. Both are listed as production starting in 1978. What refs do you have that say otherwise? - Ahunt (talk) 01:49, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'll look around. I own a 1983 Seafarer 30, have the original documentation, and it's not a Swiftsure. I dug into this once when I purchased the boat. The Swiftsure was a different boat produced during an earlier period. I'll try to find again the sources from that original research. I think Seafarer 30 owners like to think their boats are "Swiftsures" because it's a cooler name and it's leaked into the database. Harrelson3 (talk) 17:04, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
