Suggestion to Delete References which Point to Paid Content

Several of the references at the bottom of this article (in section "References") point directly to paid content on the web and as such they are [almost] advertising in disguise -- in this case advertising of the web site of a commercial newspaper "The Times" which site will not display the content of the linked pages without a payment. I suggest that these references should be deleted and replaced with links to web pages which are free to view.
