Ant ie's edit
[edit]"but had been forced out in 1915 after the IRB infiltrated the League (he was succeeded by Patrick Pearse)." I deleted this, as there is no source info and is more suited to an article on D.Hyde. ant_ie 15:54, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- It is in every history book of the period and covered in detail in the leaving cert. I'm astonished you don't know it. It also is in Dunleavy and Dunleavy's biography of Hyde. I'm reinsterting it. FearÉIREANN\(caint) 17:52, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
- Great. Can you give us the full title of the book so we list the fact with a reference.ant_ie 07:37, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
Seán or Séan?
[edit]Do we have to write Seán O'Kelly or Séan O'Kelly in English? Seán T. Ó Ceallaigh or Séan T. O’Ceallaigh (see Áras an Uachtaráin) in Irish? Thanks. --Cyril-83 (talk) 14:22, 30 March 2013 (UTC)
- The first name is written Seán in both Irish and English, with the accent on the letter a.
- In English: Seán T. O'Kelly.
- In Irish: Seán T. Ó Ceallaigh.
- In English, there is an apostrophe in the surname; in Irish, there is an accented capital o followed by a space. O'Dea (talk) 17:54, 12 January 2022 (UTC)
