Greater New York
New York appears to be different from most councils. If I have it right, the council name is Greater New York Councils (note the s), it is divided into five bouroughs that are then divided into districts. Please correct me if I am wrong, but it appears that the list here is a bit wrong. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 15:52, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
- Gadget, you are correct. GNYC is divided into the 5 boroughs. They also own the Ten Mile River camping reservation. I added a couple of minor details under the Cedarlands Scout Reservation section, since ive been on staff there for 3 years. —Preceding unsigned comment added by R.a.dangler (talk • contribs)
- So: Greater New York - Bronx Council should actually be Greater New York Councils- Bronx Borough, correct? As I recall, FDR was involved with 10 Mile. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 10:35, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
"22 Councils"
Hasn't this decreased with some recent mergers? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.153.143.44 (talk • contribs) 16:29, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
OA Lodges?
I see some listed, but they aren't very in-depth... any plans to add more information? (I'd add information for the ones I know about, but I don't want to make it look strange by having information for some and not all... 128.153.143.44 20:23, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Please, add what you know- that is the only way this is going to grow. --Gadget850 ( Ed) 21:12, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- already did with my lodge Ktemaque TrackMonkey 00:22, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
My suspicion is that the section just added was copied from camp promotional material, but I can't confirm this with a web search. Regardless, it is not written in encyclopediac tone. --— Gadget850 (Ed) talk - 13:50, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed, it should be edited heavily. Cedarlands Scout Reservation was the result of a merge, but it too could use an edit. --evrik (talk) 19:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
Inline external links
This article is full of inline external links, a no-no. See Wikipedia's External links policy. Many of them could be converted to references, though often the same site appears in a reference in the same section. They really have to go. Wikipedia is not a directory. This is fundamental stuff. Also, this is not the place to advertise-- see the Camp Russell section. -- Mwanner | Talk 23:36, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Adirondack District
I'm adding Adirondack District to Twin Rivers Council, and removing Adirondack Council. Adirondack is now a part of Twin Rivers. I'll also be adding Rotary Scout Reservation's Official Link to the links section. 72.226.77.21
- Adirondack Council should *not* link to here. The Adirondack Council is a non-profit organization, the largest environmental organization for the Adirondack Park. See here: www

- I have added text about the council's name change. Additionally, the fair-use inclusion of former logos of organizations has wide precedent on Wikipedia, see for example Apple Inc.#Logos, IBM#Logos, File:Forward Look D100.jpg, TVOntario#Logo history. A former logo still aids in identification and provides relevant historical context, and is thus permissible under fair-use policy. Antony-22 02:23, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think the use here is weak, but I'm going to ignore it for a while. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 09:56, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
