Nationality?

It's so interesting to see how Wikipedia has an American bias when professors (notable people) immigrate to the U.S. and make a career there, they are almost always listed as "Norwegian-American", "Brazilian-American", or "American-Brazilian" if they became U.S. citizens. And of course the justification is always that "wikipedia guidelines" say that nationality is linked to where "that person achieved notability"... But this process does not work both ways as seen by this description.

IMO, I think primary listed nationality should always be based on self-ascription (how a person self identifies). And if this is unknown the main nationality should be the place/places where that person grew up. But anyways... maybe I have too high expectations for a collaborative open source project like wikipedia. @Tassedethe @Geschichte 193.157.141.30 (talk) 09:12, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
