Sclerotium confusion - article misses the mark

Scelerotia are also common in many other mushrooms, there are Morel sclerotia, Ophiocordyceps sinensis has sclerotia etc.

In general the definition is [from Matchmaker PNW mushroom software]: "a knot or firm frequently rounded mass of hyphae, usually underground, which may give rise to mycelium or a fruiting body".

So I am not sure why there is all the ergot stuff here, maybe worth a paragraph, but otherwise this entry seems to miss the mark, Daniel www.MushRoaming.com

Food section

I recently removed wolfiporia extensa from the food section due to it using erroneous information conflating it with the wholly unrelated peltandra virginica, and being described properly further down the page under the medicinal uses. This leaves the section 'As Food' at an anemic one example. I'm just some chump who fixed a glaring error, so if any experts could flesh out the section with real examples of sclerotia as food(or alternatively axe it if that would be the proper procedure) it would be greatly appreciated. 47.214.118.20 (talk) 07:49, 27 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
