Requested Move Back (2009)

Ok, it even states in the article that the offical name is still Science park. The signs at the station say "Science Park/West End", but the name is never going to be changed on maps or other MBTA documents. Becasue of this shouldn't the page be located at "Science Park" not "Sceince Park/West End." I have moved it once, but then it go moved back. Just looking for a concensious before i switch it back. --Found5dollar (talk) 15:55, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- I agree that it should be at "Science Park"; the source article clearly says that "West End" is a 'secondary name'. --macrakis (talk) 05:21, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Science Park (MBTA station) → Science Park/West End – Since the previous requested move back in 2009, the original name "Science Park" has been replaced with "Science Park/West End" on MBTA maps (June 2015), which officially confirms that the "West End" addition is an official name change. - Oppose MOS:SLASH/WP:SUBPAGE, if there is another way to word this, it would be better, since slashes cause problems on the internet, as they are used to indicate subpages, and parts of Wikipedia treat it as such (like talk pages). So it would be best to use something else instead of the slash. -- 70.51.203.69 (talk) 03:28, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Comment I will note that the map lists a Gov't. Ctr. which we do not have an article on (it's actually located at Government Center (MBTA station) ), so is the map all that accurate as to the full names of stations? -- 70.51.203.69 (talk) 03:32, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose: first, as noted above, the slash is inherently problematic (there are several MBTA Commuter Rail stations and three subway stations with such names, and they're a bear to deal with in templates). Second, there is still question as to the official name of the station - the MBTA station page does not use West End, and the map has numerous other differences from official names. The most recent Bluebook, the official end-all-be-all of MBTA information, does not use West End either. Third, the proposed name does not match either the older naming scheme of Science Park/West End (MBTA station) that is the standard for all MBTA articles and templates, nor the newer scheme of Science Park/West End station that is also acceptable for new articles. It's not broken, don't fix it. Pi.1415926535 (talk) 03:51, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose, for all the reasons given above. Proposed name sounds like a neighborhood, not an MBTA station. Reify-tech (talk) 04:17, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
