- Schneeberg does indeed mean Snowmountain.
- Backoefele. The west side of the group of rocks has an opening that resembles a baking oven. There is no firebox, chimney, nor smokestack.
- Ergo, it is highly unlikely that folks from the surrounding village fled to this place to bake their bread.
