it seems the author of this article has problems with the markup - especially images are missing. If you don't feel comfortable with the syntax just point me to the location of the images and I'll do the links for you. Just answer me on my discussion page. It would be a shame for this great article to stay in this half-finished condition.

Edit of 31 December 2005 seems to have introduced something from [1], a Ph.D. dissertation (see Ch.2 Overview, matching closely the Overview section). Possible copyvio issue, therefore. On the whole the article needs much work, to cut out diffuse and POV parts. Charles Matthews 11:54, 1 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

[edit]

(copied from main page by --128.186.53.220 (talk) 16:39, 20 November 2007 (UTC)) Though Dick Grove was taught the Schillinger System, he did not find it useful and did not include it in his many teaching endeavors.[reply]

George Gershwin did not write "I Got Rhythm" using the Schillinger System. Gershwin wrote "I Got Rhythm" before he studied with Schillinger. He did however, compose the "I Got Rhythm Variations" using the Schillinger System.

It appears much of this text comes from the Schillinger School of Music web site, which does provide citations. I've added a couple, but I don't know if the other page should be used as a reference for what are labeled "facts."

Pupils

[edit]

It says that Shillinger "taught such celebrated composers as George Gershwin, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman" - but the latter two weren't celebrated composers. Celebrated, certainly. Composers perhaps occasionally, but not both at the same time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.162.244.155 (talk) 21:38, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Easily dealt with. Thanks for pointing this out, but I encourage you to make changes like this yourself when you find them. There are also a great many claims that lack reliable sources
