Correct order of stages?
[edit]It seems like stage 3 and 4 are switched, stage 4 should be with antibiotics? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 128.252.38.96 (talk) 20:35, 10 November 2009 (UTC)
Meaning of B12 deficiency
[edit]B12 difiency means Megaloblastic anemia which means there is an increase in MCV level (mean corpuscular volume) and not preniecius anemia as written because the laster one is caused be Fe (iron) difieciency!
- Pernicious anemia is an autoimmune disease where the body attacks the parietal cells that secrete intrinsic factor. Without intrinsic factor, B-12 cannot be absorbed, thus leading to megaloblastic anemia. (D.c.camero (talk) 04:14, 10 October 2008 (UTC))
- That's right, pernicious anemia is one cause of megaloblastic anemia. Also B12 does not necessarily mean megaloblastic anemia, because megaloblastic anemia may be caused by a folate deficiency, where B12 levels are normal. Rytyho usa (talk) 01:56, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
