Separate terms
[edit]I've separated the terms "Scallywag" (which is the British English pronunciation according to the OED) and "Scalawag" (US English), as they don't mean quite the same thing. In British English the pejorative reference to Southern Unionists is not the primary meaning by a long way, so this page shouldn't suggest that; and "Scallywag" shouldn't redirect there. So I have re-written Scallywag (disambiguation) page and trimmed the content here accordingly. I trust everyone is OK with that. Moonraker12 (talk) 17:50, 5 July 2017 (UTC)
