Redirect

[edit]

I've redirected this article to Loose (album) for the fourth time. Unsourced speculation and rumours aren't allowed on Wikipedia; we're not a crystal ball. Please provide reliable sources that state this will be the album's next single. Extraordinary Machine 20:37, 9 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think there should be a page for [Things Wikipedia Is Not]. 68.0.113.54 06:08, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What happened to Maneater. It was released as a single in the US 9I think) and it got some radio play, but then the radio play ceased and Say it Right came on. Don't get me wrong, I really like Say It Right, but I was just wondering what happened, if anyone knows. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by UND310 (talkcontribs) 23:59, 25 October 2006.

Radio promotion was halted prematurely in favour of "Say It Right", but the label never said why. I've read an article where this was mentioned, so perhaps we should include it in the article. Extraordinary Machine 22:16, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cover

[edit]

Why does the cd cover look so fake? Is it official at all? --Bakahito 03:03, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Premiere

[edit]

The premiere for Say It Right is the 9th not the 11th. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.108.71.43 (talkcontribs) 00:03, 4 November 2006.

Actually it premiered today, which is the 6th. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WIKI-GUY-16 (talkcontribs) 21:45, 6 November 2006.

Information?

[edit]

This isn't your typical pop song... It seems tribal, or something. Is there any information on what kind of music this is? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 35.9.42.106 (talkcontribs) 22:31, 2 December 2006.

I added some information about the influence of Eurythmics songs on this one. I hope that's what you were looking for. Extraordinary Machine 22:16, 1 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Song Title

[edit]

Nelly Furtado normally names her songs very well, but has anyone else noticed she only says "say it right" once in the song?--24.49.116.46 07:15, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

She didn't write the song. PatrickJ83 01:21, 8 March 2007 (

My boyfriend and I have a bet going. He thinks that Justin Timberlake features in the video 'Say it Right' Can someone please help?

Sound quality

[edit]

Should we say something about the recording quality? It's pretty horribly clipped, at least on the album; presumably this was a deliberate production decision, but it doesn't make it easy to listen to. Have the producers ever commented on this? I suppose I should dig up some citations for the problem... --KJBracey 14:36, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

May I ask what you mean by "pretty horribly clipped"? Extraordinary Machine 20:56, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You Belong to the City "sample"

[edit]

I see the editor who claims the song samples "You Belong to the City" has inserted that claim into the article again, and I've removed it again. The songs haven't been compared in any reliable source (or even any unreliable one, as far as Google indicates), and the album liner notes don't credit the writers of the earlier song, which is what they would do if it was an official sample. Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought. Extraordinary Machine 20:56, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hm. He's right. It does sound like it. 68.0.113.54 06:07, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dancers in the Video

[edit]

Does anyone know who they are? I read somewhere that they were with the group B2K. Can anyone confirm this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.6.243.110 (talkcontribs) 21:20, 2 April 2007.

Succession boxes

[edit]

This article is developing really nicely, but I don't think every one of the eighteen (!!) succession boxes in the "Charts" section needed to be included. It's possible even mentioning anything about the single's performance in minor markets such as Latvia and Croatia isn't necessary, though that's a discussion better suited to another talk page. Thoughts? Extraordinary Machine 02:14, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed - OVERKILL. Yet another nice formatting idea taken to an entirely undesirable level. - eo 02:36, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so what are the major markets in the world? Then, which ones should we include in the succession boxes and which ones should not be included? RaNdOm26 17:23, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There's an unreferenced list of the major music markets at World music market. Regardless, most of these charts shouldn't be mentioned at all? I'm dying to know how much influence Niue has on the global market. Wikipedia:Record charts recommends using no more than 18 charts (including Billboard ones), so I've removed a large number of minor music markets. ShadowHalo 03:25, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Guitar Sample at End

[edit]

I know the guitar noise at the fade out of the song was sampled from something (its also played in the chorus) .. Anyone have an idea? BoxingNut 02:29, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA nomination on hold

[edit]
  • "The song served as the album's fifth single in Latin America" - change "served as" to "was" as this phrased was used in the last sentence too
  • There's only one ref in the lead - guidelines state to cite everything or nothing; suggest you remove the one ref
  • "It is featured on" --> "The song is featured on"
  • "the 2006 American Music Awards[6]" - Need a comma before the ref
  • "and on Canada's MuchMusic in the" - Should MuchMusic be in italics?
  • "it returned to the countdown on 14 December[14]" - move the ref to the end of the sentence
  • "on U.S. radio in 2007, [23] and on the year-end chart of Billboard, it ranked at number nine. [24]" - Remove the spaces before the refs
  • "the ARIA accredited it as a platinum single." - Remove "the", and here's a source: [1]
  • "It is her most successful song in" - Change "It" to "Say It Right"

Leave me a note when you're done. Dihydrogen Monoxide (Review) 06:16, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Usage of the Song

[edit]

Many local pageants here in the Philippines imitated Miss Universe 2007 with the use of the song "Say It Right". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zeraeign (talkcontribs) 08:43, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
