Over 85% of the population of Savelugu are Muslims and are led by the overall chief Imam of Savelugu Sheik Imam hassàn Dahala father of the young Ghanian historianMuhib Dahala Sheikh Alhassan Dahala was named overall chief Imam of Savelugu on 17th September 2022 and has since then contributed to Important matters in the region.
