[edit]Factually incorrect While ashoka satyaputra is of the time 323 BC This article is trying to equate with king adhiyaman who lived in 2nd century AD
- by jambai edicts.meghamitra 12:33, 4 May 2007 (UTC)
Both the citations are not a verifiable and they need to be removed. The article
- link which is below the citations cast doubts on the ashokan edicts period
without any conclusive evidence with just oral sources.
We need the original citation and periods verified by links before these are accepted as valid sources.
Jambai edicts are also tied to the period of irumporai refer edicts in pugalur, who defeated the adhiyaman. So firmly the period of 2nd century AD.
Ashokan edicts have been internationally verified for the periods. And satyaputra has been big dynasity then it could be verified by other historical sources. And avvyaar who has written glowing tributes to adhiyaman would have mentioned.
This is a friviolous theroy being propagated to advance the time of tamil sangam. Please remember the sangam litertature speaks about adhiyaman
Satyaputra mentioned in Ashokan edict mentions satvahanas. (230BC) Satyaputra in jambai edict mentions adhiyaman(2nd AD)
The article tries to link the two is scandalus.
The article doesnt have the proper citations. Also it tries to limit the Satyaputras into a small hill slopes, which is not yet proved. This is wrong information!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cool maddy (talk • contribs) 07:04, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
Move?
[edit]- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: page not moved per discussion below. It appears that we've settled on a merger instead of a page move. - GTBacchus(talk) 05:47, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Satyaputra → Athiyamān –
- Exactly same clan, articles have same content. Satyaputra is an honorific title of the Athiyamān clan. Latter is more commonly known too. Lifebonzza (talk) 09:45, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- But pages Athiyamān and Satyaputra both exist and are WP:Parallel histories. Text-merge them? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 13:51, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sure, if that can be done. What's the protocol? Satyaputra refers to the Velirs royal house and is an honourific title describing the Velirs virtues in the Sangam period. Of this house, the "Sathyapura" (truth fraternity)-Velir Athiyamān clan were among the most famous families. Since this article is about this anyway, I've text merged it all into the respective articles, and propose a redirect to Velirs to avoid confusion...? Lifebonzza (talk) 09:47, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
- I'll text merge them then, that probably is best....Lifebonzza (talk) 16:35, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
- Question - It looks like you're deciding to text-merge this article into the other one? When you do that, just mention in your edit summary where the content is coming from. If that's the plan, then I can close this move request, which will remove it from the list at Wikipedia:Requested moves. Am I reading the discussion correctly? If so, I'll go ahead and close the request. -GTBacchus(talk) 22:00, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
