Fair use rationale for Image:Seapatrol saskia.jpg

[edit]

Image:Seapatrol saskia.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

With Age comes Beauty

[edit]

I saw her the other day on Sea Patrol and she looks hot now, I remember seeing her in ABC shows and other lower budget Australian shows thinking she was pretty plain, but now on Sea Patrol she's a hottie. TeePee-20.7 (talk) 13:34, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You should see her on Pirate Islands: The Lost Treasure of Fiji. I barely recognised her with long red hair and eyeliner. You're right, beauty does come with age. :-) 124.169.168.150 (talk) 13:40, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Saskia Burmeister por Getty Image.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

The image is wrong

[edit]

The person shown in the photo is not Saskia Burmeister! I think we should delete it.--Supremo (talk) 11:59, 25 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since none did anything, I deleted the photo myself!--Supremo (talk) 00:18, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You haven't deleted the image, you've simply removed it from the article. You probably need to go to Commons and bring the issue of whether the image is Saskia Burmeister or not up there. - JuneGloom Talk 20:41, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I know I've just removed it from the article. I know how Wikipedia works. But I don't know how to report the issue on Commons.--Supremo (talk) 21:09, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've re-added the cropped image. You haven't explained why you do not believe it is her. The photographer who took the photo says it's her. The contributor says it's her. It certainly looks like her. So why isn't it her? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:30, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For information; the original photo is here; http://www.flickr.com/photos/evarinaldiphotography/6184436937/. Taken by Eva Rinaldi, a professional Photographer. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 23:48, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Even a professional photographer can make a mistake. I know her since I was a teen and I can recognize her face like my cousin face! I mean that! You can send me everything, but I'll never change my mind, because she's not her! Now I don't know what to say... If you search on the web, you won't find anything about Burmeister and Croft at the premiere of this film The Hunter, but this wrong image.--Supremo (talk) 23:59, 6 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Did you check the discussion I sent in your page?? I'm not the only one.--Supremo (talk) 00:01, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Now I search on the web some info about this film and maybe I'll be able to find the name of real actress, so that I can show you I'm right.--Supremo (talk) 00:06, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can see why some are confused due to her many different hair colours and style choices. For those not familiar, you could look her up on Getty/Rex/Wire for images of her in similiar situations. She is often photographed with her hair down and a different colour - but if you look to Getty images who have the most of her - you can compare it to the ones in which she has her hair scraped back and mid coloured like in this image. As for attempting to claim it is not Saskia because the male featured in the image is not her husband - well the photographer Eva Rinaldi did not tag it as such, just Saskia - so somewhere on our end that has occured. In any case, Eva is very well fixed in Sydney as a leading photographer and is invited to many events in the city where she photographs some of Australia's biggest names - it is not like the photographer pictured someone by chance and uploaded it to Flickr.RaintheOne BAM 00:09, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well the previous person that contested acted just like yourself. Using the "I know better" complex because as you've pointed out, you have been a super fan since your teenage years. It does not give you a better handle on this encyclopedia though - as I am familiar with her work - but it isn't a reason to keep it either. However, the fact I've seen her TV work does make me wonder why you cannot see the image is of Saskia.RaintheOne BAM 00:15, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think we can accept that it wasn't Croft, and it was a error to say it was Croft when the photographer never says this. However, that's immaterial now that the photo has been cropped. Unless you have better evidence than "I know because I've seen her on screen, and I just know", then nothing can be done. I've compared the photo with others and I see no reason to doubt the professional photographer's word on this. The face is a bit fuller, but the eyes are the same, the nose is the same, the ears are the same, the smile is the same. I think perhaps you need to face up to the fact that the Saskia Burmeister you knew as a teenager is now a grown woman, and has perhaps put on a a bit of weight. Ungallant to say so, but there you go. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 00:17, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

FOUND!!!! Her name is KREW BOYLAN!!! here is the photo!!! She's not Saskia Burmeister!!! Try to search "Krew Boylan" or "Krew Boylan the hunter" and you'll find out that it's her!!! Now do you believe meeeeeee???!!!--Supremo (talk) 00:32, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here is, I only wrote "krew boylan premiere" without inclunding the word "the hunter" on Google and it shows me this! On the right, you can see the photos of premiere.--Supremo (talk) 00:44, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Calm down. :p Saskia sure has got herself a doppelganger and a half right there.RaintheOne BAM 00:49, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I think the "professional photographer" simply made a mistake. In conclusion: Krew Boylan here and here (Wikipedia photo). Saskia Burmeister here.--Supremo (talk) 01:02, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Would you like a barnstar for being right? ;).RaintheOne BAM 01:09, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm satisfied and that's enough. Hehe! But now I won't remove it again. I don't want to be blocked.--Supremo (talk) 01:24, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Krew Boylan looks a lot like Saskia Burmeister in this pic... If you still have some doubt, check that last photo.--Supremo (talk) 01:38, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't it funny how alike the two are. If one of them becomes an icon, the other will have to play them in their biopic. Any how, I'm sure now the issue has been raised at Commons, the image will be renamed in due course.RaintheOne BAM 01:53, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Supremo was right all along. I've removed the picture. Thank you for pointing it out, and thank you for doing the right thing and discussing your concerns on the talk page instead of edit warring. They do look remarkably similar in many ways, so an easy mistake to make. Has anyone ever seen them in a room together? --Escape Orbit (Talk) 09:59, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've put in requests to have both files renamed at Commons. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 10:25, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Wow...2 months later... This comment is of no relevance, but i was the first person to initiate the discussion that the picture wasn't her. And i was harshly attacked by others thinking my eye-site was bad (user:raintheone). Raintheone you are seriously judgemental and you obviously don't know her work (as you claim) because that's not Saskia - nor does it LOOK like her. I deserve an apology (I know this is done and dusted, but its the way human nature works). It goes to show you shouldn't be so rude because in the end you are wrong. Thankyou to those you realized (along with myself) the image wasn't Saskia and it was Krew Boyland LOL. Justice. 124.181.216.177 (talk) 14:47, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am sorry that I did not look into it as hard as Supremo did. I hope you accept my apology. I still think Krew is the double of Saskia though. Isn't it kind of scary how alike they look in pictures? Krew is a fairly new actress to TV - so she slipped under the radar.Rain the 1 15:46, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
