Taste

[edit]

"When young, the smell is pleasant and the taste is mild; older mushrooms may taste bitter." Is clearly merely a statement copied and pasted from the time before this species was considered separate from Sarcodon imbricatus. I myself can attest that it is not true, and the mushroom has an extremely sharp smell and taste when young, older fruiting bodies are mild tasting with no bitterness.
