The supposed logo
[edit]They are to use a combination white dove, iraqi flag and a "gun"(?) as a symbol, should we generate a SVG file about it?
- "The white dove refers to the militia of the Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, Seraya al-Salam ("peace army"). Today it is an official part of the Iraqi Army of Iraqi Armed Forces, without being entirely under control of the Iraqi government." https://web.archive.org/web/20191020180146/https://www.tagesschau.de/ausland/weltspiegel-irak-milizen-drohungen-101.html
- "The population is predominantly Sunni, but the law enforcement is provided by a Sadrist Shi'ite militia (Saraya al-Salam - their emblem, the peace dove is ubiquitous on grafitties in the city)." https://www.worldheritagesite.org/list/Samarra
- "The militia’s logo features a dove as well as a fighter holding an Iraqi flag and a rifle." https://iranprimer.usip.org/blog/2021/nov/10/profiles-pro-iran-militias-iraq
- "The militia’s logo features a dove as well as a fighter holding an Iraqi flag and a rifle." https://iranprimer.usip.org/blog/2018/apr/26/part-2-pro-iran-militias-iraq
- "flies the flag of a new militia formed by the radical Shiite cleric Moktada al-Sadr, bearing a dove and his likeness." https://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/10/world/middleeast/iraq-samarra-shiite-militias-isis.html
- "logo of the Peace Brigades, a silhouetted fighter triumphantly holding an Iraqi flag, a rifle slung over his shoulder, next to a white dove in flight and the motto: “We bow to no one but God.”" https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/public-enemy-or-savior-an-iraqi-city-could-reveal-the-true-moqtada-al-sadr/2018/06/15/f16d031a-6359-11e8-81ca-bb14593acaa6_story.html
- "The militia’s logo features a dove as well as a fighter holding an Iraqi flag and a rifle." https://www.wilsoncenter.org/article/part-2-pro-iran-militias-iraq
- "A backpatch of a freestanding dove is worn proudly by gang members. Their chosen insignia is borrowed from Sarayat al Salam, the Peace Brigade militia firebrand cleric Muqtada al Sadr commands." https://www.frbiu.com/articles/salam-313-sadrs-motorbike-militia-gains-foothold-in-europe
- "The group’s name, together with its logo – which features a dove flying in front of an Iraqi flag – reflects Sadr’s effort to distance this new iteration from the Mahdi Army’s tradition of brutal violence against both Sunnis and the Iraqi central government." https://www.kfcris.com/pdf/d88cabebd5d2a15e576cc84daf4c6d3e57cde3f05008b.pdf
so, symbol absolutely features a dove, other possibility is it featuring an iraqi flag in background and a slight possibility it features a gun and a motto... Should we generate a svg image of it, we should use svg image of a dove as a substitute or we shoud leave it empty? Cactus Ronin (talk) 12:54, 27 December 2023 (UTC)
