Ampere
[edit]Sources identify the railroad as narrow-gauge and the Ampere as standard-gauge. They also say the test was 1.5 miles out of the 12 mile line. I can only conclude that this was a test stretch of track purpose-built for the Ampere, but no one explicitly says this. I gloss over the conflict in the article. - I noticed that also. Street and Electric Railways identifies the railroad as narrow gauge, but doesn't call out the Ampere as standard gauge. It does say that a central rail was used for power distribution. Perhaps that was only built for 1.5 miles? RussNelson (talk) 02:22, 16 November 2013 (UTC)
- Sources seem pretty clear that the road was and remained 3ft gauge; Bianculli is something of an outlier. Mackensen (talk) 00:50, 2 September 2022 (UTC)
