[edit]Noticed this page was a little light on info. Begun working on Bio section. Will return later --Stretch 10:03, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Section on her Iranian ancestry are needed
[edit]Her grandmother was Iranian. She spoke Arabic and Farsi fluently. She hated Islamic traditions concerning women. She knew Islamic law well enough to defend a princess in one episode.--Will 05:50, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
- IIRC, in another episode or two it's mentioned that she is also of Commanche heritage. Both of these would be worth mentioning somewhere. --Raguleader 08:02, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
I attemptted to use the site requested to build a ribbon rack
[edit]However, I could not match several items. The closest I came is below. Please note that I could have have Wikipedia treat these links as images without uploading them. Where you are seeing an image, Wikipedia already had an image of the ribbon. Other medal pages only showed the dress medal.

- Here is a Rackbuilder, with which you can construct Mag´s Ribbon Bar —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.144.120.59 (talk • contribs)
Same website as that I already used. I see no point in trying it.Will (Talk - contribs) 23:47, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
I used the UltimateRackBuilder at http://ultimaterack.ajandj.com, but I don't know what license to use for the image. Here's the image as uploaded on Wikipedia:

I'm waiting until I can figure out which license to use on Wikipedia before I use the new link, since I don't want to end up with a broken image link if the new image gets deleted before I figure it out.--Raguleader 08:56, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Article picture
[edit]While the new picture is somewhat better than the old one, I think we might as well try to find a *good* picture of Mac for this article. Preferably one where she's not in the middle of some odd gesture or expression.--Raguleader 22:45, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
Mac's Rank
[edit]Even if we all somehow pretend that there weren't so many years between the JAG finale and the appearances of Mac and Harm on NCIS LA, how does the fictional universe account for Mac still being a Lt Col? Both Harm and Mac were about to be promoted if they accepted their new assignments following the JAG finale. If Harm lost the coin toss and resigned his commission to follow Mac in her new assignment, she should have been promoted to Colonel. Yet somehow in the intervening period Harm has become a Navy Captain and Mac is supposedly still a Lt Col. Some explanation is needed. --N4aof (talk) 22:55, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
- Well, Mac's billet in San Diego was apparently at her Lt. Col. grade, as she was not frocked to 0-6 like Harm was. But yeah, it is totally ridiculous that she would be a Lt. Colonel for 21 years. If she had been passed over for promotion twice she would have been forced out. On top of that, she was portrayed at the end of season 10 as the "marine liason to the secretary of state" and it was implied she was now a civilian (and we never saw her in uniform). Here, it's as if she never left JAG, though it's unclear if she is still in JAG or has some other billet. So not only does it conflict with JAG canon, it appears to conflict with the character's canon on NCIS:Los Angeles too. Even more, Bud was shown as a Captain (O-6) on NCIS years ago! I believe he was in San Diego, so one might assume he has a billet similar to the one Mac previously had. But he became O-6, but Mac stayed at O-5? This stuff greatly upsets me because it's stupid stuff that is so easy to get right and does a serious injustice to the character's legacy (as well as to JAG). I appreciate the desire to bring the characters back, but why not make either Harm or Mac the new JAG? At least that might make sense. I just don't get it.
- I am not sure how we are to accurately include these revelations in the respective Wikipedia articles when faced with such glaring continuity errors. Surely, some sources have analyzed these issues that can be cited on the page to balance the blind enthusiasm of R. Scott Gemmill, who used to work on JAG and should know better!
I suppose it's possible Mac is now a reservist, which might explain why she didn't wear her uniform earlier in the season and her apparent terminal rank. Though if that were the case they should be more clear about it to avoid these continuity issues. Mdewman6 (talk) 21:03, 1 May 2020 (UTC)
