Worthy of note?

[edit]

Should it be stated that Knauss was the last confirmed person to have reached the age of majority before 1900? Exodvs (talk) 15:51, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That is probably more in the trivia realm. GenQuest "scribble" 19:15, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oldest person to date

[edit]

The article says Knauss holds the record as the oldest documented person from the United States to date, but there's nothing at all in the article about her late-life dating habits. What men did she date? How and where did she meet them? Did they go to dinner, take in a movie, or what? I think the article should answer these questions. EEng 16:17, 9 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't look like that specific wording is in the article currently from a cursory search. However, the terminology "to date" in this case means "since records begin" rather than going out on the town with someone you like.
On another note, many people don't want to date/remarry after they are widowed due to having such a meaningful and fulfilling relationship with the person they were previously with, such as my late maternal grandfather after his wife (my maternal grandmother) passed away. My guess, even though there's no source verifiably indicating that, is that Knauss was of the same opinion when her husband died. Thebirdlover (talk) 22:34, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Thebirdlover Yes I removed that wording in response to EEng - probably should have mentioned that here at the time. EEng is perfectly aware of the double meaning of "to date" and was being humorous above. Pawnkingthree (talk) 00:08, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That went way more over my head than it should have. Thebirdlover (talk) 02:16, 26 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
