Opening heading

[edit]

Currently the Alcadeza or mayor of Sante Fe is Senora Albertina de Castrellon. Her term ends in November 2009.Her house is a slighlty unknown tourist attraction called the House of Orchids. The Artesin Market is well known for the hand woven Panama hats. The area is also known for it ecotourism being that there are many waterfalls around that can be accessed by hiking. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.75.66.230 (talk) 06:02, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Santa Fe name is misspelled

[edit]

The correct name of this town is Santa Fe. In Spanish, Fe is spelled without tilde, like any other one-syllable word. You can ask for the official name of the town at the Consejo Municipal de Santa Fe or in the web in any law or edict published in the Gaceta Oficial regarding this comunity, like this one: http://www.gacetaoficial.gob.pa/pdfTemp/26065/10675.pdf . Documents published in the Gaceta Oficial site are the official communication of the Panamanian Government. Other government web sites may contain errors (it is common), like the deplorable misspelling of Santa Fe. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.237.230.38 (talk) 17:13, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is what the Spanish Dictionary (Real Academia Española) says about the name Santa Fe: http://buscon.rae.es/dpdI/SrvltConsulta?lema=santa%20fe — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aghatablue (talkcontribs) 17:28, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Santa Fé, VeraguasSanta Fe, Veraguas — Relisted. Arbitrarily0 (talk) 04:30, 6 June 2010 (UTC) Relisted. (Also filled in what I presume to be the intended move target.) Ucucha 18:23, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Name Santa Fé is a spelling mistake in Spanish, and should be corrected to Santa Fe. In Portuguese the accent is valid, but not in Spanish. Lorenzo (talk) 10:49, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Query: Why, then, is it spelled with an é even on Spanish-language Web sites operated by the Panamanian government—as here, for instance (seventh entry under "Ferias Nacionales 2010") and here (third news release from top)? Deor (talk) 16:49, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
