Does this work?
[edit]Hey, folks.
I'm trying to figure out how to list Gifford's "Chief Pictures" and other works, along with the oil sketches and studies on which they were based. The major works were often painted a decade or more after the sketches and studies, so simply listing them chronologically would separate them. And Gifford's major European and Middle Eastern works were painted back in his studio in NYC, so chronologically would mix them in with contemporaneous American works. The best solution I've come up with is to break the complete works into four categories -- European; Middle East; United States; Civil War -- with a separate table for each. Above is an example of how the European table would work.
I'd appreciate your comments about whether this is the best way to proceed, and whether I've missed anything. I won't make major changes to the article until we reach some sort of consensus.
Thank you. == BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 14:21, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- Would it be less confusing to make this ONLY a table of Gifford's "Chief Pictures" and related works? == BoringHistoryGuy (talk) 15:02, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
