tankships ?
[edit]I don't think that this makes sense in English - does it mean oil tanker or container ship?--JBellis 19:37, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure of this myself, but it may be related to oil (and possibly chemicals). Google returned 36700 hits on tankship, and the word seems to be used elsewhere. Ships which may be appropriate for this context built by Framnæs (local shipyard): Ferryphotos. Improvements related to the word tankships are most welcome. History on Framnæs mekaniske verksted is missing. --Nordby73 22:43, 31 January 2006 (UTC)
- I'd never heard the word before, maybe its an American word, but it seems to be Container ship in Wikipedia.
- Changed to "other ship types" as it seems to be ferries, sail ships and ships for transport of stuff. I also started the Framnæs shipyard article, which makes sense in this context. --Nordby73 22:25, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Metropolitan region
[edit]Personally I think the metropolitan region thing like Larvik/Sandefjord Region is only capable of adding confusion: grouping together two towns and some other stuff. There is no physical signs I know of which "match exactly these places together". Larvik, Sandefjord, Stokke and Tønsberg are all close. Why split in the middle? In short: I reverted the metropolitan part in the introduction to Sandefjord, as I see few things making e.g. Larvik more common to Sandefjord than Tønsberg. Nordby73 19:23, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Larvik/Sandefjord Region should be deleted, or at minimum, Tønsberg should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.251.143.109 (talk) 09:17, 15 December 2017 (UTC)
sail ships?
[edit]In the section Whaling and Ships, the term 'sail ships' is used twice in the last paragraph. I know what you mean, ships with sails, not motors, but 'sailing vessels' and 'sailing ships' are the words that most naturally come to mind. I don't think a native English-speaking person would ever say 'sail ship'. 'Sailboat', yes, for small boats that hold a few people. Cunningpal 18:15, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- A good suggestion. I tried to implemet the change. Please feel most welcome to improve and/or expand this article as you see fit! Nordby73 13:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Harbour Chapel
[edit]Hello everybody,
It's a false claim and a nonsense to say that the Sandefjord's floating harbour chapel is unique in Europe. Only in Belgium, you can found 5 floating churchs and the older one, in Liège, which is ten time bigger was consecrated in 1974 which is rather older than spring of 2004. (https://www.cathobel.be/2017/08/22/vies-nomades-bateliers-ont-leurs-chapelles/ (in French) Vies nomades : les bateliers ont leurs chapelles).

Two population tables
[edit]Perhaps add the extra years to the {{Historical populations}} template and then delete the table — GhostInTheMachine talk to me 22:05, 10 December 2020 (UTC).

Fahrenheit/Celsius
[edit]The translation from Celsius to Fahrenheit is incorrect. I am going to assume that the initial number is 4C, so I will change it accordingly.
